They Saved Me

Chapter 8.

The week flew by so fast I forgot it was Friday when I woke up to the sound of my phone. I check and see that Luke texted me.

Luke: r u ready 2 c hijacked Peeta tonight?
Reina: oh god, I'm gonna cry every time I c his face.
Luke: at least your not seeing Finnick getting eatin alive, or Prim getting blown up. Cause that's in part 2
Reina: DO NOT MENTION FICTIONAL DEATHS AROUND ME ;_;
Luke: lol sorry
Reina: whatevs, c u later
Luke: k, byeeeee

I got up and took my shower, then I found a dark red sweater, jeggings, and black boots. I then went back to the bathroom to change, and do my hair makeup.

My long brown hair looked perfect in the classic Katniss braid, and for my makeup, I decided to add a little wing, cause, you know, Mockingjay.

I grab my bag and head strait out the door to the bus, I had a small feeling that today was going to be a good day, and it was.

When I got home from school later I had about 2 hours till Ashton came to pick me and the boys up. I found my Mockinjay pin, and a sweatshirt saying "May the odds be ever in your favor" and put those on, not bothering to change my jeggings and boots. I heard my phone ring.

Luke: hey, u should bring sugar cubes
Reina: I don't think I hav any, but I should.....
Luke: I'll bring them 2

I searched in the kitchen for sugar cubes, and found some hidden in the back of the pantry. I put some in a bag, since no one was home, and Rachel was at either a party, or her friends, I decided to borrow a small bag from her, it was an old one that she has been trying to give it to me.

I slipped my phone and the sugar cubes in the bag. I heard a knock at the door, so I quickly grabbed my house key, and went to the door to see Michael.

"Hey" he says "are you ready?"
"Yeah" I say, we walked to Ashton's small car, I had to squish in between Michael and Calum.

Once we got to the movies we ordered 3 large popcorns, since Michael refused to share with us, and the boys bought candy.

When we took our seats I sat inbeetween them, Luke and Ashton to my left and Calum and Michael to my right.

Luke whispers something to me "Did you bring the sugar cubes?" I take them out of my purse to show them to him as proof, he reaches into his pocket and shows of his smaller bag of them.

The movie starts, and I cried every time I saw, Peeta, Prim, and Finnick, I cried the most at the end though, and if someone didn't, they are heartless.

I ended up eating my sugar cubes, and half the popcorn.

We all drove home, and Luke and I (mostly me) were crying over the fact that next year Prim and Finnick will die.

"What are you to crying about?" Calum laughs

"I'm gonna tell them" I say to Luke

"No don't" He responds

"Prim had a blast in Part 2" I say, luckily they don't get the joke.

"Yeah, and Finnick had fun with mutts" Luke says trying to make a pun, I palm my face at his failure.

We went to eat pizza, then drove home, it was pretty great.

Once I was about to sleep I got a text from Michael

Michael: u r coming to our band practice tomorrow, right?
Reina: yeah, what time?
Michael: :) u can come over at 3 ish
Reina: cool, wait, who's house?
Michael: Ashton's
Reina: k, c u then

I then drift off into a deep sleep.
