You Are Screwed

Everything was going so fast and I couldn't think straight. I needed to talk to Alex if anyone could help. It would only be him.

I knocked on his front door frantically as Liz opened with a worried facial expression. I pushed past her with a weak greeting in search of Alex.

He was on the couch with popcorn watching a movie. He and Liz were having a home date.

" Alex can we talk in the kitchen" I said as he looked at me puzzled. "Sure, why didn't you call and where's Riley" he asked as I sighed.

"That's the thing I just left her alone at the house. I told her I needed to go" I said as Alex motioned his hands telling me to go on with the story.

" I did something awful" I said as he sat down and handed me a beer. "Speak or I'll beat your ass just because I want to" Alex said.

"Lucy kissed me." I said as I cringed just the thought made me sick.

"You are definitely screwed my friend, but never fear." Alex said with a chuckle. "I need your advice.I can't hurt your sister. We are in such a good place right now. We promised to never speak of it, but now that her and Riley are in this huge fight she's threatening to tell her. But I didn't kiss Lucy. I pushed her off and I'll be damned if she ruins us" I said as I slammed down my hand.

"Problem solved" Alex said as he kicked his legs up. "How?" I asked.

"She's threatening to speak because she's in a fight with my sister, right" he said quizzingly.

"Yes, but......" He cut me off. "Make them make up and then Lucy would never want to hurt her bestfriend. Secret safe" Alex said.

"That's the smartest thing you've ever said" he grinned. "Well when I try"

"I don't like all the girl drama though. I can't tell your sister either. It would break her whether it was 10 years ago or today" I said as I bit my lip.

"This is stressing you out to much man. Anytime you bite your lip you are going to go insane" Alex said as he put down his popcorn.

"Riley might not ever forgive Lucy, but she'll forgive you. You need to get back to Riley and tell her before Lucy does" I grabbed my keys and kissed Alex's cheek.

"Bruh, I love you" I said as he laughed. He smacked my head. "Never do that again, but I love you too. If by any chance my sister is so hurt she leaves you. You know I have to beat you up right?" He said as I laughed and shut there door.

I have a plan. I need to get roses. I mean dozens and dozens. I think she will be less hurt hearing it come from me than from her ex best friend.

I pulled up outside the house and I took multiple deep breaths. Damn, you are screwed.

I slowly crept up the stairs I heard her weeps and my heart broke. I opened our bedroom door as she turned to look at me. Her big eyes staring into mine. She was so beautiful, even upset.

"Hey babe" I said as I walked over to her and set down all the flowers. I hugged her and she held onto me for dear life. She looked at the flowers and raised her eyebrow.

"We need to talk" I said as she sighed. "Okay well whatever I did, I'm sorry" she said as I backed away.

"I'm so sorry Riley. You didn't do anything babe. I just freaked out and I'm so sorry " I said as she cried a little. I can't stand to see her like this.

"And you thought flowers would make it okay. What did you freak out about" she asked quietly as I shook my head. "Uh I hoped you would forgive me for just up and leaving and it's a long story" I said as she shot daggers at me.

"I already know, she called and told me" she said as I stood up. We both got silent.

"That bitch, it's not what you think. She kisse-" she stopped me from talking.

"Leave please" I saw the tears glistening in her eyes. I shook my head.

"Let me explain, don't believe her" I said as I fell at her knees and rested my head. She stroked my hair lightly and lifted my head.

"Please go now, because I don't know what to believe" I stood up and kissed her. She didn't kiss me back and my heart broke.
