Romeo and Juliet (RoWen)

Chapter 2

"W-Wendy?" he asked in shock to confirm that the girl in front of him was in fact Wendy. She nodded hesitantly her eyes wide. "W-What are you doing here?" She asked in a whisper sounding scared if anyone heard her talking to him. "I-Isn't this still in the Elementals territory?" he asked confused. Wendy shook her head. "You're in the Outlanders territory now." Wendy said looking at him in the eyes. Do be honest, Romeo was a little frightened of the Outlanders after seeing Queen Lucy act up and looked like an animal. His father told him to stay away from all of them; they were dangerous and vile creatures. That they weren't human. They would hurt him in so many different ways. He wondered what he meant by that, but focused back on Wendy. He started backing away from her a bit of fear forming inside him.

The poor girl's eyes started to water and she turned away. "You should probably go. You are probably scared of me like most kids are." Wendy said tearing up. He was facing her back, and he looked confused and shocked. Were Outlanders like her scared of her too? He felt bad for her. He took a hesitant step forward, making the bluenette jump. She started to walk away, not noticing that she forgot her basket. "Wait!" he called out and Wendy stopped and turned to him. "You forgot your basket. Here" He said handing it to the petite girl. She smiled sweetly at him. "Thanks." She said looking at the ground. "Why did you say that most kids are afraid of you?" he asked suddenly, making the girl freeze. She turned around and her mouth went dry. "Y-You don't know?" She asked curiously. He shook his head, and she sighed with relief. "Thank god one person doesn't know what I am. Even all the Elementals know." She said, but regretted it quickly after seeing Romeo scowling. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that." She said, but heard loud footsteps rushing to where they were. Wendy turned around to look in that direction, and expected Wendy to scream and say that he was here. No he feared it. He saw her open her mouth and his eyes widened. She made a swift movement with her hand making an irruption of wind fly around them. "Quickly! Run!" She said, and Romeo was surprised that Wendy didn't give them a signal. "That's Wendy's magic! Someone might be hurting her!" He heard and she looked at him with wide eyes. He darted through the column of wind, and without her noticing he hid behind a tree. "Wendy! Are you all right? Queen Lucy felt an Elemental around here. Wendy smiled sweetly. "Oh no! I was just startled by a little magical creature attacking me." She said sweetly. Romeo's eyes widened as he saw her make a small cut on her arm that was behind her back. "See?" She said showing them the cut that she had just made herself. In order to save him. "Wendy, we should go see the palace nurse to see if it's infected." The captain of the guard that he remembered as Erza Scarlet. "Erza, I'm a healer doie. I'll know if it's infected." She said and examined her cut. "Nope. Not infected." She said smiling. He watched in amazement as Wendy healed the little cut so it was sealed shut. "See? I'm fine." She said and walked away with them.

Romeo walked back home, and was thinking about what Wendy had done. "There's something that Dad isn't telling me." He mumbled to himself entering the palace. "Romeo! Where were you? It's been a few hours since we last saw you." A guard said to Romeo and he shrugged it off. He went to his dad's meeting room. "Please Natsu! You can't keep making her suffer like this..." He heard a female voice plead. "Even after what she's done?  How could you forgive her?" Natsu said harshly. "This is the fourth time I came into this cursed Kingdome, trying to get her back, Elman and Mira are suffering. They don't know what became of their little sister. Please Natsu. What would you do if it was... Romeo?" She asked and Natsu gasped. "Do not bring him into this Lucy." He barked and he heard Lucy take a step back. "You know what you would do. Let me see her at least. I would let you even though after what you did so long ago." She snarled and Romeo hid behind a pillar as he saw the blonde Queen of the Outlanders walk out. "You can forgive her, but not me? When I didn't do anything wrong. It was all her fault." He said. Romeo was surprised to see tears form in his eyes. "Why Luce...?" He muttered, but the girl didn't hear him. He stayed there and buried his face in his hands before. Romeo noticed a wring on the blonde's ring finger. Was she married? He'd have to ask Wendy. Natsu didn't seem to notice it. He stayed oblivious to it.

Romeo followed his father to the dungeon. He never saw his father go in that part of it before. He said it was forbidden. Lucy gasped as she stopped in front of a cell, her breath turning to vapor because of the change of climate. "Lisanna..." She started, but turned to Natsu with a cold look. "You kept her here? Where I would never find her." She snarled and Natsu looked ready about to cry. "L-Lucy?" The girl so called Lisanna croaked her voice hoarse. "I open gate of the Maiden: VIRGO!" Lucy chanted and Romeo was amazed at its affect. A woman in a maid costume appeared. He had never seen her before, but he felt like he had met the pink haired girl before. "Punishment Princess?" She asked in an emotionless voice and bowed at Lucy. Lucy shook her head. "No Virgo, can you please get warm blankets and a lot of water please?" She asked politely, and Virgo nodded. "Yes Princess." She said and disappeared. She returned seconds later with about five liters of water, and about five blankets. "Thank you Virgo." She said and entered the cell. Virgo snapped her head in the direction where Romeo was. "I believe there is a fourth person here." She said and walked to where Romeo once stood. She had seen the end of his clothes, and followed in the direction. Romeo had reached a dead end.

"Oh no." He muttered and Virgo turned the corner, and froze when she saw him. A single tear slipped out from her eye, yet her face was still emotionless. "M-Mister." She said and bowed respectfully. Mister? Where did that come from he had no idea. "I see you have grown up since the last time I saw you." She said emotionlessly. 'Ah ha! I knew I had seen her before. But why can't I remember when?' He thought.

"Virgo! I need your help!" Lucy called and Virgo bowed again respectfully and headed back to her mistress.

"Virgo, can you please get me fresh clothes from the celestial world please?" Lucy asked politely. Virgo nodded and puffed out. Lucy and Natsu both looked surprised and so did Lisanna t this point. "Virgo, didn't say anything. Like she was sad or happy about something." Natsu said and the girls nodded their agreement.

After Virgo came back with clothes, she puffed out without a second thought. Lucy, Natsu and even Lisanna were surprised. Virgo just puffed out without saying a word. She would usually ask for punishment or something. Lucy brought Lisanna up to the main grounds of the castle so she could change into the new clothes Virgo had gotten her.

'Why was Lucy forgiving Lisanna and not me? It wasn't even my fault. Why Lucy? Why?' Natsu thought troubled.

'Natsu thinks that I forgave Lisanna, oh no. She betrayed me. But still, I did this for Mira-Jane and Elfman. Not because I forgave her.' Lucy thought to herself smirking. Her smirk turned into a sad frown. 'I just wish that day never happened.' She thought her back to Natsu. "Dad?" Asked a little voice, alarming both of them. Lucy and Natsu turned around instantly to see Romeo standing there in shock. Natsu's eyes grew wide, and Lucy had  to hold back tears. "Excuse me." She said pushing her way through them. A tear rolled from her eye and Natsu looked at her with guilt. Lucy thought no one had seen the tear, but Romeo had. She was fine before he came into the room. He knew that his father was hiding something from him.  After the blonde left the room, Romeo looked into his eyes and saw such sadness and guilt that he had never seen before in his father's eyes. "Yes Romeo?" He croaked looking at his son.

"Why do you seem so sad Dad? I know you aren't telling me something important." Romeo said frowning. Natsu looked a little shocked, but turned his back to his son. "It's nothing." He said sadly and Gray appeared in the room. "Natsu, why is Lucy he--" Gray started but wandered off when he saw Romeo. "Am I interrupting something?" He asked looking between the both of them. "No Uncle Gray. I was just leaving." Romeo said politely and exited the room Gray's eyes following him. "Sh-She came to get Lisanna." He croaked. Gray's expression softened. "I know how hard it must be Natsu. But you need to know that Lucy is just getting over it. You saw the way she looks around Romeo and you." He said putting his hands in his pockets. "I-I tried to explain what really happened so many times, but she kept calling me a liar." He said holding back tears. "Natsu listen to me. You need to be stronger. Forget the past. Right now, she's a danger to the people of this society. She will probably never forgive you, but you need to move on like she has. Stop being so soft. You need to stand up. And strike back. Wipe out the Outlanders." Gray said encouragingly.

What Natsu didn't know, was that someone mysterious was listening to the whole conversation. He was smiling wickedly. "That will be what he believes soon." He said wickedly holding an unconscious Gray. He laughed evilly walking away and putting Gray in a room and locked the door. The Gray that talked to Natsu came out and smiled evilly at the man.
