❟❛❟ CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT ❟❛❟
"IT FEELS LIKE AGES SINCE WE'VE WORN SCHOOL UNIFORMS!!" Mina twirled on the polished hallway floor, her skirt fanning out like petals in bloom. The sunlight filtering through the windows caught the glimmer in her eyes as she spun, giggling.
Jirou adjusted the hem of her blazer and sighed. "I had to dig through two storage boxes just to find mine. Honestly, I thought I'd outgrown it in more ways than one."
Yaoyorozu clasped her hands in front of her, her voice full of quiet excitement. "We've finally moved up a grade. I'm excited to see what the new first-years are capable of."
"The Sports Festival is around the corner, right?"
The war had ended not too long ago, but life was gradually returning to normal. And before they knew it, they were now second years.
A lot happened before that. Only recently had Akame come to understand the full extent of what her classmates were doing in the war. During the chaos of the Tartaros prison break, many of them had faced escaped villains head-on, battling threats that left not just mental scars, but permanent ones etched into their bodies.
Aoyama had surrendered himself not long after the dust settled. Wracked by guilt, he confessed everything—the truth about being forced into becoming a spy for the League of Villains. After stepping down from the hero course, he left U.A., and the class made a farewell party for him.
Some heroes chose to hang up their capes for good. Among them was Todoroki Enji—Endeavor. Once the No.1 Hero, he had quietly announced his retirement. Now, he spent his days tending to a small farm on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by peace. He said it was time to rest, and no one argued. His four children and his wife, Rei, stood behind him completely. For the first time in years, the Todoroki family was beginning to heal.
"Does this mean," Hagakure beamed, bouncing on her heels, "that we're finally going to have a normal high school experience? I feel so doki-doki just thinking about it!"
"Normal high school equals love life!" Mina squealed. "I can't wait!"
Then, with a glint in her eye, she turned on Uraraka. "Ochako-chan! What's the progress between you and Midoriya?"
Uraraka choked on nothing. "E-eh?! I—What?! That's—I mean—ow—!" She flailed, tugging at her collar as her face turned bright crimson.
Mina deflated, flopping onto her friend's shoulder dramatically. "Ugh. I hate the slow burn types," she muttered — until Jirou elbowed her with a snort.
Asui tilted her head thoughtfully. "You know, I used to think Midoriya liked Bakugou."
