♫It's such a good vibration
It's such a sweet sensation♫
The game seemed to go on forever, and at some point it had mutated into Never Have I Ever. I checked out long before that though, retreating to the back corner with the kids improvising. At some point they asked me to sing a blues scale, which was equivalent to them asking me to speak Latin. So, I found myself walking back to the room long before anyone.
In a way it was good, because I could shower without having to worry about other people walking in or needing the bathroom. Someone had obviously decided that for a room that fit six people one shower and toilet was sufficient. Fucking idiot.
I grabbed my shower bag out of my suitcase and a towel. When I had my Grade 9 orientation camp I had managed to forget a towel and had to share- I can honestly say I will never make that mistake again.
While my hands were lathering shampoo into my hair I heard the faint noise of the door opening. That sped up my shower infinitely, because I was not about to have someone decide that flushing the toilet while I was showering was funny. I rinsed my hair, letting the shampoo cascade down my shoulders and fall into my motherfucking eyes. The only thing I could compare it to was what I imagined getting hot sauce and dog piss in your eyes would be like. I was crying, I'll admit it.
So I stumbled out of the shower half-blind and realised I hadn't grabbed any clothes because I overestimated how much time I would have until the guys got bored in the common room.
They were laughing as I walked in, Sidney spread across his bed with a goofy grin as Jonathon retold some story from last year. Ian was listening to music with earbuds in, drowning out everyone else as he lay on his bed. He was one fucking weird dude. I was yet to understand why they were friends with him.
I grabbed my towel tighter because I could see Hudson's swift grab from a mile away. He tried yanking it from my hips regardless.
"What are you hiding, little man?" Hudson teased as I dug through my suitcase for sweatpants and a graphic t-shirt. I ignored him with an eye roll.
"Probably a whole inch," Sidney added. I glared at him and he broke out into laughter. I rubbed the end of the towel between my fingers as my cheeks turned bright red.
"That's being generous," Jonathon joked and I threw my shirt at him, it landed right onto his face.
"A lot of guys mature later in life. It's okay." Hudson laid a hand on my shoulder and I pulled away from his grip, staring at all of them with such intensity my eye twitched. Twice. Was I really going to do this? I didn't have to prove myself to them. I was good with myself and that's all that mattered, right? Apparently not.
So, I dropped my towel and allowed it to pool around my feet as their gazes shifted from my eyes. Sidney was the first one to talk, his eyes still wide.
"Oh shit."
"I call dibs," Jonathon announced, raising his hand. I flipped him off and he fell back onto his bed laughing.
"If he's a bottom that's just a complete loss."
"Bottoms can have a nice package," Sidney shrugged and my entire face felt like it was on fire. I tried to make my way to the bathroom gradually, not revealing how awkward I found this. It was one thing when I did it to Flynn to get into the bathroom, but this was completely different.
"Can you just not?" I muttered as I pulled my pants over my hips in the bathroom, which was slightly redundant as everyone had seen what I was covering anyways. I walked back over to Jonathon, snatching my shirt from where I had thrown it and pulling it over my head.
