Chapter 4:

Brian Meil paced the waiting room while waiting for news on his baby brother. It has been three hours. Three hours since Brian had caused his little brother to try and kill himself. Three hours since Sam was brought in.

"Family of Sam Meil?"

Brian went over.

"I'm his older brother Brian."

"Is anyone else with you?"

"My mom's on her way. It'll be a while though."

"Okay. Well we pumped your brother's stomach and we have him on a oxygen mask to make sure he's breathing okay. We also have him under suicide watch for the next forty-eight hours."

"I can still see him though right?"

"Yeah. His room is on the second floor. Room sixteen."

"Thank you. But I have to make a call first."

Brian went outside and called Danny.

"What?!" Danny snapped into the phone.

"Well I wanted to let you know that Sam is in the hospital."

"So?"

"So?! Don't you even care?!"

"Nope."

"Right. Just like you didn't care about him enough so you had to cheat on him and hurt him!!!!!!!!!"

Danny hung up.

Brian went back in and went into the elevator up to the second floor then walked to room sixteen and went in, He went over and sat beside Sam. Brian took Sam's hand into his and laid his head on it.

"God." Caleb said.

Brian looked up and over at the door.

"Oh hey Caleb."

"Hi Brian." Caleb walked over with Matt behind him.

"I see you brought your shadow with ya."

"I am not a shadow." Matt said.

"You follow your brother every where."

"So?"

"Shadow."

Matt was about to reply when Sam groaned.

"Sam?"

"Bri?"

"Hey kiddo how are you feelin'?"

"My stomach hurts."

"They pumped it too get the pills out of your system."

"Oh........"

"Hey boys can you give us a minute?"

"Sure."

Brian watched them leave before turning to Sam.

"Sam.....About what I said earlier and at school it's not true. I was just upset. I don't hate you or blame you for dad's death. I don't want you dead. I love you Sammy. I need you."

Sam hugged him.

"I love you too Bri. Even if you are annoying some times."

Brian smiled before kissing Sam's head.

"Bri?"

"Yeah Sam?"

"Danny's not coming is he?"

"No. But mom is."

Sam laughed. "Of course she is. Oh god she's going to kill me."

"You bet I am." Tracy said tapping her foot.

Sam gulped and hid under the blankets.

Brian rubbed his back. Sam peeked out a little.

"Hi ma."

"Don't 'Hi ma' me young man. What were you thinking?! Taking all those pills?!" Tracy asked.

Sam hid back under the blankets.

"Ma-"

"Stay out of it Brian. Samuel answer me."

Tracy's phone went off and she looked at the number. "Yeah? Yeah okay. I'm on my way."

Brian looked at her.

"I have to go. They just called me in. Sam we'll talk later." Tracy then left.

Sam laid on his side and curled into a ball. Tears filled his eyes and he tried to stop them from coming.

"Sam......"

"First Danny hates me and now my m-mom........maybe it would be better if I was dead."

"Hey! Don't say that!" Brian said sitting on Sam's bed and taking his brother into his arms.

"Why? It's true. Mom hates me. Danny hates me. Maybe even Keilter and you."

"No I don't. I love you. And Keilter likes you. And Ma loves you. She's just upset."

"I'm the one that made her upset. So it's my fault."

"Sammy....."

"I'm tired." Sam yawned.

"Okay. Get some rest."

Sam closed his eyes and fell back to sleep. Brian sighed. He took out his phone and sent a text to Danny.

Nice work idiot. You have my brother thinking that you hate him. Way to go.

Okay.

So you really don't care about Sam?

I never said I didn't care about Sam.

You said enough.

What ever.

Did you even like my brother?

Yes. So much.

Then why cheat? Why hurt him like that? Is it just your goal to hurt him? To make him want to DIE? Do you want him to die? Do you hate him that much?

Look I found someone cuter so what?

Ah yes. So why didn't you just end it instead of cheating?

Why does it matter? You wanted him dead any way. What happened to that?

I never wanted him dead. I love my little brother. Always have always will. I was just upset. It matters because my brother really really likes you, and you just hurt him. Hell you don't even care he's in the hospital. That is so messed up man. If you just wanted to hurt my brother well let's just say you did it on purpose I will kill you.
