XXIV. If One Day

Anyway, hey, hey, hey, minna-san! It's been a while. Sorry for the inactiveness. I've been losing time lately, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to update before August 25. I will finish this thing NOW!

"Mirajane, I finally found you."

Laxus is in front of me now. He looks so desperate and so happy that he's found me. After all, I haven't spoken with him in months. Now that he's here, I'll need to contain my excitement. He rushes to me and embraces me with his big, strong arms. Of course, my thin, womanly arms go around his body, because it's been months since I longed for his embrace.

"Where have you been?" he asks when we part. "I mean, you, Elfman and Lisanna. Where have the three of you gone?"

"We've gone to all sorts of places," I answer. "And, Laxus... come back to Fairy Tail. Please. We've been needing you like crazy."

"Really now?" he says, slightly smirking. "Don't worry, we've already composed a plan to save the world."

"Composed a plan?" I ask, confused. "And we? Who's we?"

"You'll find out if you go to dinner with me." What he says brings an awfully noticeable smile on my face.

That smile cannot be wiped away, even when I discovered we were eating with Freed and Bickslow. It made me feel bad for thinking about eating with other people, because I should be glad that I saw Freed and Bickslow again. But, I really, really, really wanted to have dinner with Laxus, like the time we had a food fight at that restaurant whose name I do not remember. I missed the way he had strangely proper table manners, the way he had thrown food back at people after someone hit me with a pie, the way we had to pay a lot of Jewels and empty the guild's bank account after doing so...

I missed him so much I want this dinner just to be between the two of us. But, unfortunately, that is something I cannot have as long Bickslow and Freed are here.

"What are you actually planning to do?" I ask them as my spaghetti is served.

"Well, it's a rather hectic plan," Freed answers, sighing, "since it's Bickslow who thought of it. Nonetheless, it actually works."

"Hey, don't insult my wisdom," Bickslow counters, crossing his arms. "Hear that? Wis...dom. It's something I gained since you've been gone, Freed."

"I honestly do not care," he says before turning to me. "We'll borrow Blue Pegasus's Christina in order to do it."

"Tell me more," I reply. "Does this involve us?"

"Who are you referring to?"

"I knew you were having a date with Laxus!" someone yells instantly as they enter the restaurant. We all turn around and see Gajeel with Cana, Levy, Lily, Elfman, and Lisanna.

"Hey, you guys!" Bickslow shouts, standing up quickly before getting out of his seat to give Gajeel a man-hug.

When he turns to Lisanna, his mouth literally drops, and Laxus laughs at that. He just literally stands there, probably deciding whether to hug her or greet her or shake hands with her or something. Lisanna suddenly puts her arms around him, and the way she embraces him is rather tight. Bickslow returns it as Bickslow-ly as ever.

"This is the beauty of unity," Freed says. "Unity produces a feeling of happiness. Being reunited with someone you've lost for so long is the greatest happiness Bickslow must have felt his entire life."
