I know I've been gone for a minute, and I want to say thank you for being patient, for sticking with me, and for still loving this story. Life's been a lot lately, and writing took a back seat, but this story? It's still in me. I'm easing back in, and this chapter is just a taste of what's to come.
Love y'all so much thank you for being here. 💕💕💕💕😘😘😘

Zac POV
Zac alarm goes off. It is 2 days after Thanksgiving. What a Thanksgiving it was! He looks at his phone that reads 8:00 am, he groans but remembers he has to go pick up valerie from the airport.

He slowly gets out of bed, and he looks at himself in the mirror. It looks like he hasn't slept in days, and honestly that's what it feels like. His mind has been racing with so many different thoughts about him and Fatima. And just her situation with her parents, he was just glad he was able to help her.

He brushes his teeth, takes a quick wash up and throws on a hoodie and his grey sweats, and heads out to get Valerie.

Fatima POV
I scroll on my phone at my desk in the office. Taking a big sigh as I see my sister, my aunt and my parents post selfies of them enjoying themselves still here in Atlanta.

It has been 2 days since the news broke that my parents are getting a divorce, and honestly every time I think about it my heart just stings.

I hear a knock on my office door, I look up to see Tiffani.

Fatima-Hey what's up?

Tiffani steps to the side to reveal her aunt lorraine, with hopeful eyes that they could just talk. Fatima knows she hasn't been the best host towards her family while they have been her visiting her. However she just couldn't face them right now.

Aunt Lorraine-Can I come in?

Fatima slowly sets her phone down. And nods her head yes, Aunt Lorraine comes over to take a seat in the green plush chair in front of her desk. She places her purse in her lap.

Tiffani clears her throat, to try to cut through the awkward silence.

Tiffani-Aunt Lorraine, Boss Lady can I get you both anything to drink? Tea, coffee, water?

Aunt Lorraine-well yes sweetie, I would love tea.

Fatima-water is fine Tiff.

And with that Tiffani heads out to get the drinks, and closes the door behind her.

Aunt Lorraine just looks around Fatima's office with a smile on her face.

Aunt Lorraine-Wow, I am so proud of you.

Fatima has a soft smile that appears on her face.

Fatima-Thank you auntie. I'm glad you could finally see what I have always dreamed of all my life.

Aunt Lorraine-me too...sweetie me too.

Fatima smiles.

Fatima-well, um are you enjoying Atlanta?

Aunt Lorraine-I am. It's been nice having that young man Kyle take us around the last couple of days.

Fatima just smirks and nods her head in agreement.

Aunt Lorraine-However honey, it would be even more beautiful if my niece could join us.

Fatima sighs.

Fatima-auntie it's not that easy.

Aunt Lorraine-Listen Fatima, I am not asking you to be back to your normal self after hearing such devastating news. However I am asking for respect.

She says as she takes a sip of her tea. Fatima just stares with her. As her eyes start to tear up.

Fatima-you know that I have the upmost respect for my parents. I just don't know how to process all this.

Aunt Lorraine-Fatima, respect is not avoiding them while they are here. Not saying a word to them unless it's asking them do they need anything. Only talking to me when you get home from work. Honey this is not the way to go about it.

Fatima-I understand, but how do I get through this auntie?

Aunt Lorraine-You love both of your parents through it. Sweetie, if you would take the time to hear them out. You would know that they are the best of friends right now and they are...happy Fatima.

Fatima-so why didn't you all tell me? why did my low down sister have to announce it at Thanksgiving? The first Thanksgiving I hosted? It felt like some top kept secret between yall.

She can start to feel herself start to get upset. Aunt Lorraine grabs her hands from across her desk.

Aunt Lorraine-well, because look at the way you reacted Fatima, this is why. You parents love you deeply and sweetie they are so proud of you. And they just didn't know how to tell you. They know how much you look up to them and their relationship.

Fatima-so they just thought it was easier to keep this from me?

Aunt Lorraine-well I don't know if easier is the word, but they wanted to protect you. While this might have not been the best way to go about it, it was the only way they knew how too.

A tear drops from Fatima's eye.

Fatima-were they ever going to tell me?

Aunt Lorraine-of course sweetie, of course they were. Fatima your parents were devestated when they found out about your last relationship with Drew. Your dad wanted to hurt him with every fiber in him.  They are still healing from things too, and they just want to protect you.

Fatima-I understand I just, I don't understand.

Aunt Lorraine-And you don't have to understand right now, just know that your parents are happy honey. And they want you to be happy with your life. Not worry about the decisions they are making.

Fatima-I am happy.

Aunt Lorraine just smirks.

Aunt Lorraine-who are you trying to prove? You know I know you like the back of my hand.

Fatima-what do you mean auntie? I have everything I have ever wanted...my dream.

Aunt Lorraine just shakes her head.

Aunt Lorraine-That young man Zac, the smile that he brings on your face, is a true happy Fatima smile.

Fatima-yeah...well, that ship has sailed. I've moved on and he has moved on.

Aunt Lorraine takes a sip of her tea.

Aunt Lorraine-mhm, okay.

Fatima-why did you do that auntie?

she asks with a laugh, aunt Lorraine chuckles.

Aunt Lorraine-sweetie this is what I am going to say about that to the both of you...stop running and stop wasting these other peoples time.

Fatimas eyes widen, as she leans back in her chair.

Zac POV
I pick up Valerie from the airport and we are in the car on the way home. I have the music softly up.

She is talking to me about her trip with her family, I am trying to stay engaged as much as I can. However my mind can't help but to keep drifting off to Fatima.

My heart starts to pound fast as my grip on the steering wheel gets a tighter.

She stops talking for a moment. My voice cracks.

Zac-Um..Valerie, we-we need to talk...
