"You must marry her."
After hearing those words my world came crashing down.
Who would've thought
That I would become just another investment for my father's business, an unwanted burden he no longer needed.

Archit
"I brought some food for you Darshini darling."
I said. My lips automatically curled up. "Archit! How many times do i have to tell you not to call me that." She said sounding angry. "Sorry darling. I swear I will never forget that you told me not to call you Darshini at all. I swear i will never call you Darshini from now on. If i ever call you Darshini just remind me not to call you Darshini again." "Stop calling me that. Also don't call me darling." She said looking annoyed.
"You told me not to call you Darshini. You never told me not to call you darling." I said raising an eyebrow. "I am telling you right now." She said. "Ok, I will remember not to call you Darshini." I said, "And I won't call you darling from now on baby." "Stop calling me baby." She said. "Sorry babe." I said. "Not babe please." She said. "Sorry babygirl." I said sticking my tongue out. "Stop with that." She said, her tone filled with annoyance. "Okay cutie pie." "I am telling you. Stop. Right. Now."She said, she sounded pretty pissed off. "Idon't wan-"
"Okay, I won't do it Jaan." I said cutting her off.
Darshini didnot say anything. I caught a look of her face and God, I swear to God I just saw her blush. But that was for a very brief moment. "Jaan?" I asked. "Monkey." She said to me before she turned around and started walking. I had successfully annoyed her. And maybe I had just found a nickname to call her. "Just forget it." She said. Turning around she started walking. "As you wish Jaan." I said while following her. "What is the meaning of Jaan ma?" Priyangshu asked innocently making me chuckle. Just then Priyodorshini turned around and gave me a death glare. If looks could kill, I would have dropped dead by now. "Cheleta ke tumi pakiyei charbe." She said. [Translation: You are going to spoil my son.]
"Sorry Jaan." I said biting my tongue while walking behind Darshini. She stopped for a moment. She turned around and faced me. For a very brief moment I saw her face before she turned around again. Was she really....... blushing? She continued walking.
We finally reached Baba's cabin, in the third floor after what felt like a thousand years. "May I come in Sir?" Priyodorshini asked for Baba's permission before entering the room. "Come in." He said from inside the room. "Priyodorshini how many times have I told you to just call me Baba." He said as soon as Priyodorshini stepped inside the room. I followed her. "Are baba amaro toh ektu bh-" Baba stopped speaking as soon as he saw me. [Translation: I lik- (like it sometimes)] "Ei bador ta abar ekhane ki korche?" He said looking at me. [Translation: What is this monkey doing here?] "Baba!" I exclaimed. "What do you want?" He asked frowning. "Can't I come to visit my father?" I said. "Jiboneo toh aaj porjonto kono kajer kaj korte ashis ni." He said. [Translation: Never in your life did you come here to do anything productive.]
"Baba, he came to give you lunch." Priyodorshini said stepping in. Baba smiled upon hearing her. "See, it sounds so good when you call me that." He said to her. "Ei bandor, de ki enechis." He said to me. [Translation: Hand me whatever you brought you monkey.] Nobody loves me! I placed the tiffin box infront of him. "Have it. I made it with my own hands." I said with an exaggerated sense of pride.
"Archit made it all by himself." Priyangshu said making me smile. "Priyangshu! How many times have I told you not to call him by his name!" Priyodorshini said to Priyangshu. "Hey, it is okay. He is just a kid afterall." I said trying to defend Priyangshu. Afterall he is still confused. "But then what should I call him ma?" Priyangshu asked innocently. Priyodorshini stood there in silence, probably not knowing what to say. "Ma?" Priyangshu said looking up at her. She just stood there silent. I looked over at Baba, he too was just sitting there in silence. His face had an awkward expression. "Ma?" "Priyangshu how about we save this topic for later." I said trying to change the topic. "But Archit-"
"Dekhi tui ki randhli." Baba said cutting Priyangshu off. [Translation: let's see what you cooked.] I'll have to thank him later for saving me and 'Jaan' from this conversation. He opened the lunch box and caught a whiff of the food. "Smells good. Let's see if this tastes good." He said.
"By the way, Archit, I need to talk to you about something." Priyodorshini whispered to me suddenly. "Yeah what?" I asked. "Not here. Can we go outside?" She said making me raise an eyebrow. "Sure." I said. Priyodorshini left the room and I followed her. She took me to the secluded side of the floor. No one usually comes here. Why did she bring me here? What was she planning on telling me? All kinds of thoughts made their way to my mind. Truly of all kinds.
"Archit." Priyodorshini said making me come out of my thoughts. "Yeah?" I asked. Suddenly Priyodorshini's expression turned serious and cold. "Jamai shashthi is around the corner Archit." She said. "Yeah. I know." I asnwered. "Ma told me to visit her on jamai shashthi." She said. There is no way Priyodorshini is taking me with her that day. "Okay then. Are you going to take Priyangshu with you?" I asked. She narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean Archit?" She asked. "I mean, you will visit your mother. If you don't take Priyangshu with you I can take care of him." I said. "I am taking him with me." She said. "Ok then, I will have the house to myself that day I guess." I said. Priyodorshini looked at me and kept staring at my face for awhile. "Archit?" She asked. "Yeah?"
Suddenly Priyodorshini let out a throaty chuckle. "Are you really this dumb Archit?" She said making me raise an eyebrow. "Huh?" I asked. "Jamai shashthi means you are coming with me Archit." She said. "Oh okay." I answered keeping a straight face. She probably thinks I am an idiot. "Let's g-go back. Bab-Baba and Priyangshu m-must be waiting for us." I said trying to sound serious. Trying not to fumble my words. I turned around and started walking. Priyodorshini followed me. I didnot expect her to invite me. She dislikes me. Then why? Soon we reached Baba's cabin again. We went inside since the door was open. "How was the food baba?" I asked him. Baba was sitting with his back towards us. Suddenly he stood up from his chair. "Archit." He said, his tone cold. "Don't ever cook, ever again." He said. "What? Why?" I asked. The food I cooked was definitely good. There is no way I-
"Archit, you put baking soda in the dal instead of salt!"
