Brandon's pov

I was just staring at the spot where she was standing just a few seconds ago. "Oh my goddess. She's your mate." Mason whispered. I guess he caught the look between us. I got up from the table grabbing my trey.

"Brandon are you sure you want to go after her?" Andy asked me.

"I'm sure. I just want to make sure she's okay." I answered. I left the lunch room after I dumped my trey. As soon as I got outside my wolf caught her scent. Bad thing was she was with someone else. I followed her scent and she was sitting under a tree with a girl. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I knew it wasn't anything bad. The girl turned around and I see it was my sister Angie. She smiled at me so I took it as my time to walk over to them. "Hey." Emily just kept looking at her phone she never looked up once. Only time she looked up was when she got a phone call. She got up and answered the phone.

"She's very nice." Angie commented. "You need to get to know her. She has a reason for why she ran." I looked at my sister in shock.

"Will you tell me?" I asked her.

"Not my place to tell." Angie answered. She smiled at me before she got up. "Tell her I'll see her in class." I nodded and waited for Emily to return. She returned after a couple minutes.

"Sorry but I have to leave." Emily whispered.

"Wait I have a question." I stopped her from leaving.

"Why did you run?" I asked. She didn't look shocked that I asked.

"I don't have time for relationships." Emily answered softly. "Can you tell Angie that I'll call her later?"

"Won't you see her next hour?" I asked.

"No. I'm leaving school. I have something to deal with." She whispered.

"Well I'll tell her." I answered.

"It was nice meeting you." Emily told me with a small smile on her lips.

"It was nice meeting you too." I told her truthfully. Emily waved and walked to the office to sign out.

'Emily had to leave. She said she'll call you later.' I mind-linked my sister.

'Man I really wanted to talk to her more.' Angie replied.

Emily's pov

I was talking to Angie when Brandon walked up to us. I didn't want to look at him because I'm afraid that I'll feel the same way like last time. I was just paying attention to my phone until it rung. I quietly got up to answer it.

"Hello?" I asked picking up the phone.

"Is this Emily Bailey?" A lady asked. I looked at the caller I.D to see that it was a unknown caller.

"This is she." I answered.

"Your mother Debbie Bailey has been admitted to the hospital. She wants to talk to you and your brothers." The lady told me. I can't believe this is happening.

"May I ask what happened?" I asked.

"She was hit my a truck." The lady answered.

"Will she make it?" I asked. No matter how much I hate her I need her to survive. I can't lose my brothers.

"We aren't sure miss." The lady answered.

"I'll be there soon." I told her hanging up. I went back to the tree to see only Brandon there. "Sorry but I have to leave." I whispered. This cant be happening to us.

"Wait I have a question." Brandon said before I could leave. I picked up my bag and waited for him to ask. "Why did you run?" he asked. I knew he would ask that I just didn't know how soon it would be.

"I don't have time for relationships." I answered softly. "Can you tell Angie that I'll call her later?"

"Won't you see her next hour?" Brandon asked.

"No. I'm leaving school. I have something to deal with." I whispered.

"Well I'll tell her." Brandon answered.

"It was nice meeting you." I told him with a small smile on my lips.

"It was nice meeting you too." he told me truthfully. I waved and walked to the office to sign out. Once I signed out I drove to get the boys. Today will be a long day.
