Tobin's POV
"Alex will you come with me to the doctor?"
"Yes of course I will." She said with a smile. This, hopefully, will be my last appointment for my knee then I should be able to play during the victory tour.
We go out to Alex's car and I sit on the passengers seat as Alex drives.
"Thanks for coming with me."
"No problem Tobs, anything for my best friend."
"So how is your knee feeling?"
"It's fine for the most part."
"So you think you'll be able to play?"
"Let's hope so."
Once we get to the doctor they do one last X-ray then they stretch out my knee in ways that use to hurt but it doesn't
anymore.
"Alright Ms. Heath, you're clear." The doctor says.
"I can play soccer again?"
"I'd take it easy, but yes you can."
A huge smile crosses my face and I jump up and hug Alex. I was so relieved.
"Thank god." I hear Alex mumble. Then she hugs me tighter.
I sign some papers and stuff then I thank the doctor.
"Well to celebrate lets get some dinner, on me." Alex says.
We go back to our hotel and just relax for a while. we planned on getting dinner at 6. We asked Kelley to come with us to.
At around 5:30 Kelley shows up.
"TOBIN! It's been a while since I've seen you without a brace!"
I just laugh, "hey Kelley" I say and give her a hug.
"Where's Alex?"
"Probably putting makeup on or something."
"Of course she is."
We wait for Alex for like 10 minuets until she is ready.
"Gosh Alex you take forever." Kelley says.
We all go to Alex's car and drive to this one steakhouse that is really good. Once we got there we got seated right away because they knew we were on the USA team. We took like 5 minutes to sign autographs then we were seated.
"Do you guys know who we are playing our first victory tour game?"
"Hmmm I believe Columbia." Kelley answers.
"I hate that team, they are so dirty and rough." Alex says.
It was a really good dinner and It was fun just talking with them. After dinner the three or us decided to walk around the city for a while.
Finally after that we all went back to our hotel, said our good nights, and went back to our rooms.
"Thanks Alex, it was a great night."
"No problem Tobs."
After that we both went to bed almost instantly. It was a long but fun night.
Alex's POV
I woke up the next morning having the same symptoms as I did before. Weakness, and fatigue. I just had surgery a couple months ago to fix something to help the blood flowing in my body but it's not working. I feel a lot worse.
"Rise and shine sleepy head!" Tobin said as she entered my room. I felt to weak to move.
"Tobin..."
"Yea?"
"I... I don't feel good."
"What's wrong?"
"Get Amy" I said, my breaths beginning to shorten.
Without anymore questions Tobin left to get Amy. I felt like I was going to pass out again.
Tobin's POV
I didn't know what what going on with Alex. I hurried and went to Lauren and Amy's room which was next door. I open the door thankful it wasn't locked.
"Tobin? Is everything okay?" Lauren asked me.
"I don't think so. Where's ARod?"
"She's in her room."
I quickly go into Amy's room and see her just laying In bed.
"Hey Tobs!"
"It's Alex. She said she wasn't feeling good and she told me to get you." I said in a hurry.
"Oh god." She said and rushed to Alex's room where she was laying in bed.
I was still confused on what was going on but Amy seemed to know exactly what was going on.
Amy's POV
I went right to Alex's side.
"Alex are you okay? Can you get up?"
She shook her head no.
"Tobin we need to get her to the hospital right now."
"What's happening?" Tobin asked
"I'll tell you later, right now we have to get her in my car and get her to the hospital."
Tobin and me carried Alex to my car and I told Tobin to drive so I can watch Alex. After all I am the only one that fully knows what's happening to her.
Once we get to the hospital we put her on a wheelchair then the nurses take her from there.
"We'll be right here Alex." I said as they wheel her away.
"Amy, tell me whats happening."
I take a deep breathe and tell Tobin.
"She has some sort of blood disorder."
"How come I don't know about this?"
"She didn't want you to know so you don't have to worry about her."
"Well that didn't work, now I'm worried sick about her!"
"It's okay Tobin, she'll be fine."
We both take a seat at the waiting room. Then the doctor comes out.
"It's her blood disorder acting up again. We need someone to donate blood for her"
Without hesitating Tobin volunteers
"I will."
"Do you have A Positive?"
"Yes I do" Tobin says.
"Okay right this way please."
"Are you sure you want to do this?" I ask Tobin.
"Yes I am, it's for Alex."
"Okay, I'll be in the waiting room."
Tobin's POV
I follow the doctor to this room and I donate some blood. I hate seeing blood and I have a fear of needles so this was pretty scary for me.
"Alright your done." The doctor says.
I get up and go back to the waiting room where Amy was.
"So how was it?" Amy ask me.
"It was fine, I do feel a little dizzy."
"When did it happen?" I ask.
"Right when she got your letter she was already in the hospital." She replies.
"I hated myself for not talking or answering her calls. I was such a terrible friend."
"You've got to put that behind you Tobs. You both are friends right now and that's all that matters."
I smile at her and we both just wait for the doctor to come out and tell us how Alex is.
