She Had Me From Hello

Chapter Ten-Maya

This week with Carina and the kids have gone by too fast. I don't want to see them go back to Italy in the morning, but I know I have to for their sake. It's nine o'clock at night and the kids just went to bed. I walk into the bedroom and see Carina walk out of the bathroom in a robe. She immediately takes my hand and leads me into the bathroom. I immediately see that she has drawn a bubble bath for us.

"You're too good to me," I tell her. "You deserve all this and more, bambina." She takes her robe off and slides into the water. "Come here," she says to me.

I take my clothes off and get in with her. She gently pulls me to lay with my back against her chest. She starts massaging my shoulders and neck.

"We are gonna relax in this tub and then get into bed and spend the few hours we have left with each other." "Okay. That feels so good," I reply.

A little while later and the water is cold. We stand up, drain the tub and grab towels. We put on some pajamas in case the kids need us and get into bed. I lay down and she curls up on top of me listening to my heartbeat. We fall asleep soon after.

The next morning, it's time for everyone to go back to Italy. It's six and we just arrived at the airport for their nine o'clock flight. We walk in and head to the check-in counter. Thirty minutes later, they're checked in and we all go to the lounge outside the security checkpoint. We both get a coffee and the kids get orange juice. We sit and hold onto each other waiting for time for them to board the plane.

An hour later, they start boarding first class and business class. They're in first class, so they get to board first with the rest of the first class passengers. Once they find their seats and put their bags up in the luggage compartment, they sit down. They get comfortable and an hour later, everyone's on the plane and ready for takeoff. They get the all clear to begin taxiing to the runway and once there, they pick up speed. Soon they are in the air and flying.

I watch the plane leave until I can no longer see it in the sky. I walk back to the car and head home.
