"We have to keep quiet till her birthday. Not a word to anyone except her sister, Dakota, and Vicky." I heard my mother speak in a hushed tone.
"Okay got it." I heard my father reply back.
What did they want to keep from me? And why could only Dua, Dakota, and Vicky know about this? Why did it have to wait till my birthday?

"How am I supposed to wake her up?" I heard a familiar voice say.
"I don't know do something. Just don't-"
"NICOLE WAKE THE FUCK UP FOR OUR MORNING RUN!" I hear someone shout in my ear as I shot up with wide eyes.
I turned my head to see Dakota's face really close to mine. I screamed really loud and fell off my bed.
"What the hell was that for?!" I shouted while rubbing my head.
"You have to get up for our morning run!" Dakota exclaims.
"Well I had my alarm clock set so you didn't have to make go deaf because last time I checked this is the 21st century Dakota, meaning which we have high tech technology!" I say while pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Sorry but hurry up and get ready." Dakota apologizes.
"Okay." I said as I got up and headed to the bathroom to wash my face.
I came back into my room to pick out some running clothes. I got out some black nike pro knee length pants that I usually would where for running or any sport to hide my cuts and scars, a black sports bra, and a black long sleeved shirt I would wear for volleyball.
I quickly got dressed, grabbed my water bottle I pre-freezed during the night, and also grabbed a pair of my running shoes as I yelled for Dakota and Vicky. My parents were already gone for work because they had to wake up at 4 AM and I have to wake up at 5 AM now.
As we were walking outside my house and we're doing some quick and basic stretches, I was about to ask Dakota and Vicky if we have school today but then I remembered that today was a teacher institute day.
*skip run because I'm too lazy to get into detail again*
I slowed down once we reached my house. All 3 of us were pouring in sweat since we just ran about 14 miles. I was dying, because I'm not a distance runner and I had a breathing problem. Dakota was pretty good because she also does distance and surprisingly Vicky was okay too.
We came inside my house and saw it was 7:06 AM. Wow we ran for a really long time!
Vicky said she was going to head home since she was grounded. She was never spending time with her family since they were all busy. They were both grounded 2 days ago for 2 months.
Once they left, I went to my room and picked out another pair of black nike pros with another tank top (a/n remember this is the same day and her parents r still at work). I picked out some underwear and decided to keep my sports bra. I went into the bathroom, stripped down, and hopped into the shower.
Once I was done, I dried myself and put on my clothes I picked out. I combed my hair and tied it into a ponytail.
I walked back into my room and saw I had gotten a text from Katherine. She asked me if I wanted to come over and hang out with her. I replied with a simple sure since my parents weren't home and they weren't going to be home for hours.
She saw my text and texted back her address. I saw her address and thought to walk to her house instead since it was only a few blocks from mine. I grabbed a sweater that wasn't too thick but wasn't too thin at the same time and out it on. I changed my Nike pros into some black sweatpants that have 2 white stripes on the sides and were like joggers but had a bit of a rough texture to it. I grabbed my same pair of running shoes I just wore and put them on again. I grabbed my phone with my house key and made my way towards Katherine's house.
When I got there I rang the doorbell and a few seconds later the door opened for me to see Katherine in shorts and a college shirt.
"Hey!" Katherine says while hugging me.
"Hi!" I reply back as we part from our hug.
"Come on in. I hope you don't mind I invited my boyfriend and some of his friends." Katherine says and I just nod in response not even knowing what she just said since I was in such awe from her huge house.
She had spiral staircases on both my left and right and this gorgeous and elegant chandelier. I was shocked at how beautiful and neat her house looked like. I hadn't even realized Katherine asking me if I was okay. Once I snapped out of being zoned I saw Katherine looking at me worried.
"Katherine I'm fine I just zoned out a little." I said.
"A little?" She exclaims as we both chuckle.
"Okay a lot. It's just you have a really nice home! It's very beautiful." I say with a smile.
"Thanks. Uh, you want anything to drink?" She asks me.
"Some soda. Preferably Pepsi." I reply and we both laugh.
She pointed to the direction where everyone was at. She walked off in another direction I'm guessing is her kitchen. I started to walk in the direction Katherine pointed me to. As I got closer I started to hear voices getting louder and louder. When I got to the room, my breath got stuck in my throat and I was all of a sudden frozen. I couldn't believe who I saw.
