Would I be crazy enough to text him? I mean, I don't think he'd give me a phony number...but being friends with my sisters boyfriend is a little weird, isn't it?

-A Few Hours Earlier-

"Do I have to go? I'm not even friends with the guy." I groaned.

"I know, honey, but your sister really wants to see him and she's not allowed to be alone with him."

"She's 17! I'm 16!"

"Yes, but he's 18." My mom argued.

"Can I at least bring a friend?" I asked.

"Honey, you need to keep an eye on your sister."

"Oh my god! Whatever, who cares?! Let me spend my summer watching over my sister! Fucking thank you!"

"Kellin! Don't talk to me like that!"

"You're making me do something I don't like! I'm gonna talk to you in a way you don't like! Look, we're even!" I yelled in a cheery tone, although I was anything but cheery at this moment.

I stormed out of the kitchen where we had been talking. I walked out into the living room, pissed off more now than ever.

"Hey, I'm sorry you have to come with us everywhere..."

I jumped at the unexpected voice. I didn't even realize Vic was here yet. He was picking us up in his car but Kathy wasn't ready yet, as usual, and I wasn't up for going.

"Oh...hi." My cheeks burned red. He was wearing a blink-182 t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and vans. His hair wasn't straightened like last time and I caught myself staring again.

What do normal people do when they see someone staring? They either catch your attention, or they ask you why you're staring. Vic, though? No, he didn't say a word, just stared right back.

I noticed he was staring back, but his eyes were racking down my body. I took this as a chance to do the same thing, and my god, my sister was lucky.

I heard his laugh and my eyes darted up to his. He laughed again when he noticed me blushing. I didn't know what to say, I had gone blank. He stepped closer and made it blatantly obvious that he was checking me out. I was confused. How am I supposed to feel about this?

"You're cute." He chuckled. If my cheeks could explode from the amount of blood rushing to them, I'm sure they would have.

"Um..." I looked to the ground and bit my tongue, thinking of something to say. "You too."

Pause for a second. Rewind. Do over.

Three things I wish I could do, but never could. I wanted to run away and hide. Slap myself and tell everyone how stupid I was. Never face him again and pretend that I didn't exist.

"I'll make sure you're not a third wheel today, alright? I'm not too mean." He winked. That's it, I was gonna drop dead on this floor and he'd have to call life alert.

"Uh, o-okay...yea. Thanks." I smiled at him, shoving my hands in my pockets.

"So, tell me about yourself." He spoke so relaxed, I didn't quite think it was possible for me to be nervous around him when he sounded like that. Yet here I am, nervous just to stand in front of him.

"Well I really like that band on your shirt..." I smiled. He looked down at his shirt and smiled too.

"Really?!" His eyes lit up like Christmas lights. "Kathy hates them! I wish she was into this type if music..."
