The rehearsal room buzzed with sound. Music poured from the speakers, echoing against the glass. Chan moved through the stage formations with focused energy, sweat dripping down his temples as the team got the final choreography tight before the showcase next week.
His phone vibrated against the soundboard.
Felix 🕷:
Are you surviving or just looking hot on stage to make me lose focus again?
Chan smirked, glancing down.
Chan 🐺:
Surviving. Looking hot is a bonus.
Felix 🕷:
Unfair. How am I supposed to work when you're out here smirking like that?
Chan chuckled to himself, typing quickly.
Chan 🐺:
You're the one who started this. Don't blame me when you walk into a wall because you're thinking about me.
"Is that lover boy again?" Han's voice shot across the room, sing-songing in mockery as he leaned over Chan's shoulder dramatically.
Chan immediately shoved him back, laughing. "Mind your business, Han!"
Changbin rolled his eyes fondly from behind the console. "Let him flirt. It's the only time he smiles like that lately."
"Aw, that's cute," Han teased. "Love is in the air... and apparently in the group chat."
"Shut up before I write you out of the next verse," Chan said, but he was still smiling as he tucked his phone into his pocket.
Meanwhile, across the city—
Felix stood across from his father's massive mahogany desk, the room colder than usual. The tension sat like thick smoke in the air.
"You're willing to throw away your legacy for a fleeting mistake?" his father spat. "You left your post, your responsibilities, your family—"
"I left you," Felix replied sharply, voice rising. "You don't get to control me anymore."
"I built this for you. I raised you for this."
"No. You built it for yourself. And when I finally did something for me, you decided it was a betrayal."
His father sneered. "You're going to end up alone. Broke. Humiliated."
Felix gave a bitter smile.
"Then I'll finally know who I am."
With nothing more to say, he pulled out a folder and laid it down.
"Here. Take it all. The shares. The board seat. The name. I don't want it anymore."
"You're bluffing," the man barked.
But Felix was already turning around. His voice came soft, controlled.
"I gave you everything. And you turned me into something I hated. I'm done."
Later that night, Felix leaned back in the booth across from Mr. Kim.
"I knew this might happen," Mr. Kim said, pouring them both a drink. "Which is why I've already done what you asked. The company is safely registered under my name until things settle."
Felix let out a long, shaking breath.
"Thank you. I really... I didn't know how else to protect it."
Mr. Kim nodded. "Your father underestimated how far you were willing to go. You have a clean slate now."
