The days had blurred together for Chan, the rhythm of his work and the solace of music keeping him afloat as he tried to move past Felix's coldness. Weeks passed, and though he occasionally saw Felix in the hallways or during brief meetings, they never spoke beyond what was strictly necessary.

Chan had convinced himself he was fine with the distance. Felix had his reasons, he told himself. It wasn't his place to question them.But all of that shattered one evening.Felix had gathered everyone into the largest meeting room, the air abuzz with curiosity and chatter. Chan stood in the corner, leaning against the wall, tired from the day's work and half-distracted by his thoughts.

Felix stepped forward, his usual composed and commanding presence silencing the room. "I have an announcement," he began, his tone calm and steady. "Tomorrow, I'll be hosting a party. It's a special occasion—my engagement to the daughter of CEO Yoon."The room erupted in applause and congratulations. Some gasped with excitement; others whispered about what a powerful match it was.But for Chan, the words struck like a dagger. His world tilted, the noise of the room fading into a dull roar. He didn't care if it looked rude. He didn't care if people noticed. All he knew was that he needed to get out.

"Chan!" Han's voice called from behind him as Chan stood by the stairwell, gripping the railing so tightly his knuckles turned white."What?" Chan snapped, though the anger wasn't directed at Han.Han stepped closer, his expression soft with concern. "I know it's hard, but you need to calm down.""Calm down?" Chan's voice cracked. His father has a say in everything he does. You told me yourself you weren't sure where you stood with him. Maybe this was inevitable."Chan let out a bitter laugh. "Inevitable? Maybe. But it doesn't make it hurt any less."Han reached out, placing a comforting hand on Chan's shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?""No," Chan said quickly, shaking his head. "There's nothing to talk about."Han hesitated but eventually nodded, stepping back. "Alright. I'll leave you alone. But don't stay here all night, okay?"

Chan didn't respond. He waited until Han's footsteps faded before walking back to his office.The building was silent, the usual buzz of life replaced by an eerie stillness. Chan sat at the piano in the corner of his studio, his hands resting on the keys.
