A/N there might only be one or two more chapters left of this story. And as I go back and read everything I've done so far I realized I went back and forth with Mike's name several times lmao. I really like Mike though it just goes with his cool, golden retriever character. Michelangelo suits him and fits better with James, Ryder, Mike, Colby, and Danny. See it would not have flowed if I re-named him Benji like I planned.
Anyway thanks always for reading. Can't wait to publish the finale with the surprise at the end.

Sephiran only smirked, already one step ahead. He'd stepped out of the way in one long, graceful side-step sending James barreling into the coffin. And then time slowed down. Patches of fur bristled over my skin on both sides as Ryder lunged after him next followed by the others all still in their wolf forms. But Sephiran was just too fast. He dodged each of their advancements like he anticipated them. As if he saw it in their minds.

Ryder let out a gurgled whine as Sephiran kicked him down and sent him flying across the room. Raquel's brown fur flashed past him for a man on the other side of him who wasn't ready for her attack and screamed as she ripped him apart. Pieces of flesh flying from her mouth as she did. A woman came into my line of vision and I readied myself for her to attack. So much for Sephiran's warning that nobody touches me but him. Just goes to show Rogues are still rabid wolves who are unable to truly follow a leader.

"You're not going anywhere, princess," she snarled then threw her closed fists open to reveal her bloodied claws.

"Why do you guys keep calling me that? It's Malia–" I started to say because my irritation got the best of me. But a flash of reddish fur swept over her and then she fell to her knees before falling lifeless and decapitated on her back. Mike stood on all fours behind the body, his mouth coated in and dripping crimson blood.

Mike! Get Malia out of here! James' voice bounced inside my head.

Mike's brown eyes landed on me and he motioned with his snout to the door. I looked through the doorway over my shoulder and it would have been easy to escape without any of the Rogues guarding it. And it didn't seem like there were any more of them coming to join the party.

But I couldn't leave my pack like this. Not when Sephiran was not only awakened but faster than any wolf I had ever met, damn it. And though the four Rogues plus Sephiran were outnumbered by us even without Danny here, I couldn't just walk away while they stayed to fight for me.

"I know where they're keeping your sister." The sound of his voice made me turn my attention to him. The mention of my sister made my fingers brush over the vial in my pocket again to confirm it was still in there.

Cort's mask covered the bottom of his face as usual but his eyes were dark and chilling as they stared at Sephiran. His gaze was murderous. Like the sight of Sephiran awakened the Hunter in him. He held a gun in each hand and gripped them so tight I was suddenly nervous he'd accidentally set one off and shoot himself or me in the foot.

"Where is she?" I asked, but he didn't answer me. He was lost in his trance as he stared down Sephiran. I looked toward the Rogue and as soon as I did, his blood-red pupils darted toward the coffin. The coffin that, though James who was a little less than two hundred pound wolf had crashed into it, didn't move an inch. Unlike its cover which had toppled over and fallen off. The coffin itself was cemented into the ground and it was much larger than Sephiran was. Almost as if it had been structured around something else.

I gasped softly. "She's inside the coffin." And as if to subconsciously confirm it, Sephiran's eyes again darted toward the coffin which cost him a misstep and Raquel managed to trip him onto his back before lunging at him with her teeth poised to rip flesh. But he was too fast and with one swoop of the arm, shoved her off him. Though it looked as though he had simply swatted at an annoying fly, Raquel's back hit the opposite wall and she cried out before she hit the floor. She tried to stand but her body quivered and she whined when her limbs gave out on her and instead settled her chin over the ground not moving except for her eyes to watch the fighting.
