Murmurs of greetings hits Alex on her way inside the impressive fifty storey building she solely owned. She can see from her parapheral vision some are cowering from her empasive cold gaze.Some made a wide berth avoiding her and scurrying away.There's nothing new about how they act around her,she always wore an intimidating and stern aura. She is very strict in the workplace but not as ruthless as the others painted her in business world. She make sure that there's no slacking happening during work hours. She pushes everyone to its limits but always fair to every single one of them.
The elevator pinged as she reached her office floor.
"Good morning Miss Storm." The receptionist greets her which she replied with a nod.
Alex rolled her eyes looking at her table where two flower bouquets are with both boxes of expensive chocolates. There are note attached to each which she knows what's written even without reading it. Those flowers are usually from the galas she forced to attend to,being a CEO. She isn't interested on anyone besides she doesn't have time for relationship drama her plates are full as of right now.
Jenna, her PA entered as she plopped on her seat with a cup of her favorite coffee and tablet on her hands.
"Morning Miss Storm."
Alex take a sip and gestures for Jenna to continue.
"You have a meeting with investors at 10:45,board meeting at 1:30 and meeting with Hunts Builders International's CEO and some of its architects for the proposal presentation on our new project,at 3:00pm. I'll bring in the papers you've asked me through email last night and new documents that needs your sign and approval. "
"Thank you, " Alex murmured over her coffee. "Oh Jenna," she called her as she start to make her way to the door. Alex gestures to the flowers on the table." You can have them if you like,the chocolates too."
Jenna's face broke into a bright smile, "Thank you Miss Storm they're beautiful. "
Alex just nod as Jenna pick them up gathering the two boxes of chocolates and left.
"Hey Julie, " Jenna called the receptionist, " Flowers for you." She joked handing the tulips and a box of chocolate towards Julie.
"Poor guys they've just turned down again,well more flowers and chocolates for us" Julie's grinning taking the items.
These particular scene happened since long time ago that they both can't remember. Flowers and chocolates with notes ended up to them and there's a lot specially after a gala or some social gatherings like parties,fund raising and so on for rich business men and women.
Alex Storm seemed to catch attention of wealthy businessmen, hot actors and models even politicians but no one seemed to catch her interest.
Half bunch of documents, three conference calls, Alex checked her watch to see there's only half hour to go to her first meeting of the day.
Her phone rings after few minutes.
"Storm,"
" Now,now Viper you sound like you're ready to strike someone. Hello to you too.." A deep masculine voice with the hint of amusement answered her.
" You know I always am Luke, what's up?"
Luke is Grandpa's son, he's ten years older than her. He handle and arrange fights for her. That means this call is something about it.
"Well there's a challenger that wanted to take down Viper. The fight will be held second Friday next month. You in? We gotta show this asshole where he belongs."
One thing she like about Luke,he's straight forward.
"It's on,count me in." Alex answered looking at the blinking light of the intercom. Jenna's voice cut through.
"Miss Storm, your 10:45 are here. I'll get them settled at the conference room."
"Yes please,I'll be there in a minute. Thank you."
"Luke I'll meet you tonight for the details, gotta go now."
Her meeting with the investors went well. Big companies came to invest in her business. Lately numbers of them adds up making huge earning for the company.
She needs to start her new project that she finalised acquiring and bought a month ago.It is an old hotel and resorts on an island at Bahamas near the small private island she owned. It needs major renovations and modernised facilities.
Alex just got some food from the pantry for lunch and continued her never ending emails,signing documents and video calls from the heads of her other businesses.
A knock on the door interrupted her and Jenna appeared holding some folders.
"The proposal you've wanted and your 2:00 is here." Jenna said while setting them on the table.
"Thanks Jenna I'll be there."
"I like the proposal so far,the ideas are great and the facilities to be added are highly modernized. We just need to check and survey the island. I need the final proposal after that. I'll have Miss Williams email you the schedule date."
Alex gathered her things from the table, Jayden Hunts,Ace Builders International's CEO approached and shakes her hand.
"Thanks you Miss Storm, glad you like it." The handsome businessman said.
"Thank you gentlemen. " She nodded to them. They nodded back and left guided by Jenna.
Alex checks her watch realising work hour will be over in few minutes. She decided to call James telling him to go home coz she will stay at her penthouse for the night. She called Grandma to tell her the same so she won't worry about her.
"Jenna you can go home earlier after you sort out everything," Alex said as she press the intercom.
