Riley POV:
Okay so, I'm up first and I don't even know this choreography. So for a few seconds, I just stand there, and look at the floor, hoping it will swallow me up. I look over and see James wink at me. Thoughts fly through my head like wasps. Deadly wasps, with big stings and they buzz so loud, all of the nice thoughts I'm trying to think of, can't be thought. Does James actually have a crush on me? Was he actually trying to help me?
"Riley, could you please come and do your audition." Miss Kate sounds stern, so I stumble over to the centre of the studio.
Confidence. I need confidence in myself. I'm a good dancer. I made it into A - Troupe last year. And I can do it again. I hope.
I hear the music start, but it just sounds like a confused screech down my ear. I decide just to do the old choreography I know, not the one James showed me. If I seem confident, it will show through my dance. So I do it.
I feel huge rushes of energy flash through me as I kick and turn and jump. I feel like i'm doing good. Not great, just good.
I finish the solo, panting and sweating. Do you ever feel like you just know something is going on, but even though it's messing with you, you just can't figure it out.James POV:
I can't believe Riley did the right Choreo. I really thought she would trust me with this one. Clearly, she doesn't trust me enough yet. And I emphasise the yet. Put it in bold and italics, and capitalise it. Yep, that's what I mean.
Riley begins to approach me, as Kate calls for a five minute break.
"So, the choreo I just did was, erm, correct? Wasn't it?" She looks very annoyed with me. I think she's sussed me out.
"Oh yeah," I start stumbling on my words, and even with me saying it, I even sound like I'm lying, "I got it totally wrong, but I think I know it now. What do you say, we go to culture shock, I buy you a juice-"
"Wait a minute, did you try and get me to do it wrong? Did you want me to mess up?"
"No Riley, it was just partly a way for me to get you to trust me-"
"Trust you?! Making me mess up and losing my spot in A - Troup, and threatening my chance for the solo at Carmichael's, is going to make me trust you?"
"If you knew the full story Riles-"
"Don't even bother calling me that. Leave me alone. Your'e a jerk." She walks off."Okay James, it's your turn!" Miss Kate announces, followed by a cheer from Eldon and West.
"Are you good, bro?" West asks, patting my shoulder.
"No man, I'm really not."Riley POV:
As I turn and look at James, I can't help but think, that there's more to the story of why he gave me the wrong Choreography. Why wont he just tell me.Hey! It's Maisy :)
