A moonless, starless sky peered at the black tapestry of night, woven with strands of intrigue and musical revelry. People danced and moved to the energetic beat of the party music, unaware of the invisible ship hovering above the nightlife.

Silver light flickered amid the emerald grass, strewn with confetti. A uniquely shaped building emerged from the ground like a pearlescent white lotus, blossoming amid the delightful array.

Lasers shot upward, striking the invisible ship with revolving disco lights. The sultry scent of amber, musk, chocolate, tonka bean, and sandalwood literally perfumed the air like a thin film of smoke cloud.

An iridescent bronze spyglass captured the view from below as the ship hovered in invisible mode a few distances away. Demian lowered the skyglass, turning towards the others aboard Mirror Blade.

His comect dinged, alerting him to a new message notification. It was a video clip of Cole holding a basket of fried bread, along with the happily tossed, "Incoming!"

Happily tossed, indeed.

Literally a minute after receiving the message, a jump portal appeared. Instead of teleporting, Cole happily tossed the basket onto Demian's lap.

"We found this amazing coffee shop. It's got the best baursak in the city!" Cole said excitedly, astonishing Demian with the discovery of fried bread.

In the background, Demian heard Anders chime in, "In the world!" and Elivra concluding, "In the galaxy!"

The jump portal vanished like a water ripple, disappearing into thin air.

Demian looked at the basket of baursak on his lap. On the basket was the name of the coffee shop: Twilight Breaking Donuts.

"You've got to be kidding me," Demian murmured, feeling he was always targeted for jokes because he sparkled and he could read minds, like the vampire character Edward Cullen from Twilight.

"What was that?" Civic asked, entering the cabin. He glanced at the basket, peering curiously at the baursak. "What is this?"

Before Demian could respond, Civic took a bite of the baursak. His eyes widened like the basket, and he inhaled, breathing deeply.

"Wow, you've got to try this!" Civic flung a baursak at Demian.

Demian caught the baursak, sitting stunned for a moment, before he tried it and understood. He quickly hid the basket after reading Civic's thought of enjoying another baursak. Sure enough, disappointment surfaced when Civic couldn't find the basket. Demian turned so he couldn't see the mischievous grin on his face.

Another thought appeared, this time from Tal. Demian, we're in position. Could you please review the plan and give us the ok before we proceed?

"They're not behind the backpack. They're right here," Demian told Civic, handing him the basket as he got up from his seat. "We gotta go. Tal and the others are waiting."

Where did you hide them? How come I didn't see them? Did you just prank me? Civic was forced to abandon the mystery when Demian left the cabin.

All eyes turned to Demian when he entered the pilot cabin where everyone was gathered.

Inlivido's girlfriend, Liqorina Errol, was the pilot. As the only finned one aboard the ship, Liqorina was the most vulnerable, especially on a spaceship hovering above dry land. The nearest water source came from the water fountains on the park property.
