Wow.... Ok. I don't know what to say. Basically all my Wattpad notifications have been going to into my spam so I had no idea anyone was even reading this.. And.. wow... 1.6K READS!! This is my first story so I'm really happy and since Bastille are more famous now I expect there'll be more fanfics so not so many people will be reading this but thank you so much everyone! And I promise I'll try to update WAY more frequently.

It's two days before Dan and I are leaving for Venice, and the dread has been growing each day inside me, a gnawing reminder that my newfound happiness isn't going to last. I'm lying on my bed trying to decipher hidden meanings from a poem I'm studying at uni- meanings which the author clearly didn't intend. The homework's due in tomorrow... I glance briefly at my phone and see the flash of a text message. From Dan probably. I quickly scribble down some random remarks about diction and grab my phone, shoving my work off the bed as I lie back.

Hey what are you doing? Miss you.. :( xx

I laugh and text back quickly, jumping off the bed and grabbing my jacket.

Was gonna do my homework but obviously you're way more important ;) Meet you at starbucks in 5? xx

He texts back almost instantly, and when I get to Starbucks he's already there, sitting by the window looking out anxiously.

"Hey," I smile, sliding into the seat across from him. A beautiful smile spreads over his face and I lean in for a quick kiss, but Dan deepens it, until I pull back looking around self-conciously.

"Dan! We're in public...!"

"So? I'm not embarrassed to be seen with someone as beautiful as you," he leans in again, but I push him away and order a frappuccino, trying to keep a straight face as the waitress gawks at Dan trying to kiss my neck while I order.

"You're.. so.. embarrassing..." I mumble, trying not to moan as Dan bites my sweet spot gently. "Not here!" I push him away weakly. What this guy does to me!

"But I miss you... I've been waiting to kiss you all day!"

"All day?! I saw you this morning!"

"Feels like all day to me.." he grumbles back sulkily.

"Shut up," I kiss him on the nose then smile apologetically at the waitress as she arrives with our drinks.

Dan insists that we go back to his straight after we finish, so I let him grab my hand and pull me away. He breaks into a run and starts kissing me before we've fully entered his flat. He pushes me gently up against the wall by the elevator and starts kissing up along my neck. I close my eyes and moan as he reaches my sweet spot, and I feel him chuckle against me. His hand travels up under my shirt and I wrap my hands around his neck, tugging at his hair.

"Dan.." I moan. He flutters an eyelash against my cheek in response.

"Excuse me, I would like to use the elevator," says an icy voice.

Dan whirls around and I peek over his shoulder, feeling the heat rise to my face. A woman in her mid-fifties is standing before us, looking down at us over her long, thin nose. Her white hair is cropped short and her skin is almost translucent, so you can see the blue meanders of her veins. She looks at us as if we we're something disgusting she's got stuck on her shoe.

"After you," says Dan, smiling apologetically. "We were just about to go up anyway,"

The woman, apparently disgusted by the thought of sharing the elvator with us, gives us a revolted look and storms up the stairs.

"Um, okay then.." says Dan uncertainly. He takes my hand and we enter the elevator, going up to the fifth floor.

"Dan, we've got to stop doing that..." I stifle my laughter. "You'd think you could catch aids or something by breathing the same air!"
