"Britt, how the hell did you get detention the first day?" Asked Dylan over the phone.
I had to call and tell him eventually why I wouldn't be waiting for him at the car like we had discussed.
"It's a long story Dyl..." I say not wanting to tell him that it involved Blake.
"Great, does this mean I have to wait on you?"
"Ummm... I think I can get a ride..." I said thinking about how Blake would have to drive home anyways. Getting a ride home from Blake doesn't mean I have to flirt with him... I can't forget what Callie told me.
"Alright cool see you back at the house." Dylan said then hung up.
I walked down the hall towards the classroom where detention is being held. I would've been lost if Callie hadn't talked me through how to get there at least a hundred different times.
I walked into the room and the only people there were Blake and this kid that had dark brown hair and a tight black shirt on. He was zoned out on the ceiling and didn't look down when I walked in so I couldn't see his face.
However Blake noticed when I walked in, he gave me a quick smile and gestured for me to sit in the seat next to him. Remembering what Callie had told me, I sit in a desk in the row behind him, that way I won't be able to look into his eyes.
"Aww babe your not mad at me are you?" Says Blake as he turns around in his seat to face me. "No." I say without looking up from my homework on the desk.
"Well that's not very convincing."
I look up to see him fake pouting at me.
"I'm not mad." I say trying to sound as normal as possible.
"Not much better but I guess I'll take it." He winks then turns back towards the front of the class towards the teacher that just walked in.
I hadn't seen this teacher yet, she was old and had little red glasses. She looked like a sweet old lady... Better than Mr. Maguire.
"Alright let me call role..." She chuckles then puts her glasses that were dangling around her neck up to her eyes, "Blake Martinson."
"Here Mrs.H." Blake says leaning back in his chair.
"How sweet of you to show up again Mr. Martinson."
"I just love coming to visit you Mrs.H." Says Blake. I could feel his smile even though I wasn't looking at him. He was basically flirting with this old lady... I was starting to like him less and less. Which was a good thing, right?
"Britt Williams." She says looking towards me.
"I'm here."
"And finally Garrett Robinson.." She said, saying his name as if it were poison.
"Ah you know I'm here." He said smirking, kind of sounding like Blake.
I turned around in my seat to look at him and he smiled back at me. I blushed from embarrassment that I had turned around to look, and quickly whip my head back around to the front of the room.
He was quite attractive, almost as attractive as Blake. He had icy blue eyes that stood out even more against his dark hair than Blake's did. There was something about Garrett's face that just made you want to keep starring. He didn't look like the school's golden boy that's smile made girls swoon, but more of the school's bad boy that girls secretly day dreamed of... And I kinda liked it.
"Alright," says Mrs. Hillings, " you all are it for today and since there are only a few of you Im going to go grade papers in the teachers lounge. You all can leave at 4:30, and remember no talking." She leaves with a smile on her face as if she knows that that rule will be broken.
"So Britt," said Blake once Mrs.Hilling has left the room, "what are your plans after school today?"
"Uhm..." I said knowing I needed a ride home, "I was kind of hoping you could give me a ride back to my house?"
"Aw but that's no fun, there's a beach party at 5 you should come!" He says pouting.
"I don't know..." I say not wanting to go with Blake, because I know he will probably win me over.
"Just ask Garrett, I'm sure he's going too."
"Well," Garrett says standing up to come sit near us,"I wasn't planning on going, but if you're going I will." He said smirking at me.
I look from Garrett to Blake, Blake's face seems a little displeased now, but still they are both waiting for a response.
"Well, I guess if everyone's is going I'll go." I said smiling a bit.
"Perfect." Said Garrett.
"Great." Blake chuckled.
Then the door opened and in walked Mrs. Hillings.
"I've decided to let you all leave early," she said, "I have a date tonight and I want to go get ready."
"Awesome Mrs.H good luck on your date!" Said Blake grabbing his bag and hopping out of his chair.
I followed and so did Garrett.
As we walk out the building, I see the cheerleaders getting out of practice. When they see Blake they all came running over, and he didn't hesitate to talk to them.
"Every single girl..." I heard Garrett mutter in his soothing voice under his breathe.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just that every girl at this schools falls for him, and it just surprises me that not one of them is smart enough to catch on to his games and tricks."
"Hm sounds to me like your a bit jealous." I said giving him a playful push and trying to be flirty without embarrassing myself.
He then stepped a bit closer and looked me in the eyes. He had to look down a lot he was about 6 feet compared to my 5'4''.
He is now so close that I can feel his breathe, causing me to scoot back into the wall behind me.
"Not at all," he says, "because luckily you don't seem to be under his trance."
"Britt." I hear Blake's voice from somewhere behind Garrett.
I don't look away from Garrett, I didn't want to stop staring into his eyes. Instead Garrett took a step back and looked away walking towards a convertible that appeared to be his car.
"See you tonight." He said as he hopped in and drove away.
"What was that all about?" Blake grumbled as we walked towards his car.
"What?" I asked trying to act like nothing had happened.
"You and Garrett?"
"Oh we were just talking."
We got in the car and he backed out of the school parking lot.
"Well then that was an up-close conversation but whatever you say, are you a still going to the party?"
"Of course." I said smiling, causing his frown to go away and his normal self to come back.
"Great, I can't wait to see you in your bikini." He winked and laughed, turning completely back to the Blake I know.
"Haha very funny." I laughed back.
He pulled into his drive way and said, "We will leave in an hour."
"Ok, and um thanks for the ride Blake."
"Anytime, seriously." He grinned then walked towards his house as I did the same.
Why is he so perfect? And why is Garrett too?
