"You ran away overnight?" Mum yelled at me

"Mum, I.." I started before she cut me off

"And you didn't go and look for her?" she turned on her heel, yelling at Dad.

"I tried but.." Dad started before he got cut off

"Mel, I'm sorry your weekend has been ruined sweetie." Mum sighed, hugging a smug looking Mel

"I'm really sorry Mum, it's all my fault." I whispered

"Yes, yes it is." Mum snapped

"It's my fault, don't blame Lee." Dad said

"I blame both of you." She stated

"Maybe Mel should move up here with me, Lee you can go back to London with your Dad." Mum suggested

"Yes, great idea Mum" Mel smiled

"But Mum, I've just got settled here." I protested

"Well, according to your behaviour recently this place isn't doing you any good." Mum sniffed

"The girls are nearly finished school anyway," Dad started "Why don't we wait until the summer, see how things have turned out by then."

"Hm, I suppose," Mum started "I guess if I've coped for 4 years I can cope for another few months."

Mum shot me a look of disgust then smiled at Mel.

Dad smiled apologetically at me.

"Well, we better get going." Dad saved me

"Bye Mum." Mel said as they hugged

"Bye my gorgeous girl." Mum grinned

"I'm sorry." Dad mouthed.

"Don't be." I whispered as we hugged

"See you in the summer, yeah?" he checked

"Course." I nodded

"Oh, that reminds me!" he gasped handing me a big envelope "Don't open it until you're in your room."

"Uh, sure." I nodded

"I'll see you in the summer Mum, we're still going on the fashion world tour. Aren't we?" Mel asked

"Yes dear, seven weeks of fashion in some of the worlds most beautiful cities." Mum squealed

"Wait, what? Your going away all summer?" I asked

"Yes, you should have your own plans arranged by now. It's May Leanne, only two months until summer." she shrugged

I shook my head, obviously they would do something like this.

"Mel, come on. Time to go." Dad stated

"Don't speak to her like that." Mum snapped

Dad and I sighed, exasperated.

I hugged Dad again then climbed the stairs slowly, getting into my room and falling onto my bed, opening the envelope.

A picture of a beautiful house fell out.

I admired it before emptying out the rest of the envelopes contents:

-A small booklet about Cape Town, South Africa.

-Two open return areo-plane tickets to South Africa

-A hand written note

To My Little Princess, I know living with your Mum hasn't been ideal. So, for the summer you and a friend can come and stay with me in Cape Town. I bought the house in the picture a few years ago, but no one knows about it. Don't tell your Mum. It's beautiful, you'll love it. It's so relaxing. I'm flying over on the first of July and leaving the twenty fifth of August so you can come over any date between then. Hope to see you soon, lots of love Dad xxxxxxxxx

"No way." I breathed

I let out a little excited squeal. This was amazing! Who could I take though?

I grinned, starting to read through the booklet. The whole place looked amazing, the house was beautiful! It must have cost so much.

I can't believe Dad's got a secret house in Africa, wow. Well I suppose if as married to Mum I would have to invest in something like that soon enough.

I hid everything in my drawer so Mum wouldn't find it.

I know cannot wait until summer!
