Chapter 25

"I'm going to the bathroom." I excused myself from the table

I walked through the elegant restaurant and found the bathroom

As I exited the bathroom I walked into some

"Sorry." I apologized

"No, it was my fault." the guy said

I smiled 

"You're gorgeous by the way." he complimented

"Thanks." I blushed

"Who are you here with?" he asked

"My Dad, his girlfriend and her son." I answered

"No boyfriend?" he asked

"He went back home." I answered

"Oh, well nice to meet you." he said then walked into the bathroom

"Who was he?" Niall asked as I sat down at the table again

"Who knows." I shrugged

"How's the food kids?" Dad asked

Niall and I both glared at him

"Goodness, you look like twins when you do that." Maura smiled

"Not kids." I said 

"Okay, okay." Dad laughed

We finished our meal and were waiting on the desert.

"Is your Dad okay? He doesn't look too good." Niall whispered into my ear, hand resting on my knee

"He's been nervous all night, I don't know what's wrong with him." I replied quietly

"Okay," Dad breathed out "I want to thank you both for being here."

He turned to us then back to Maura.

"Maura, I love you and I don't know what I'd do without you. I didn't think I'd ever find someone to love again, or someone to love me," he chuckled quietly "I guess what I'm saying is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

My breath hitched and Niall's hand squeezed my knee.

Is he doing what I think he's doing?

He got out of his chair and got down on one knee, bringing a small box out of his trouser pocket.

Maura gasped as tears began to fill her eyes

My hand came up to my mouth as he opened the box revealing a beautiful ring.

The restaurant was in silence

"Maura Horan, will you marry me?" Dad asked

Tears were running down her cheeks as she nodded "Yes, yes!"

They both laughed through tears as Dad slipped the ring onto her finger.

The restaurant erupted into cheers as they kissed.

"Did they just...?" I started

"Yep." Niall nodded

"Well, hey brother." I smiled

Niall laughed as the both turned to us

"Are you both okay with this?" Maura asked

"Of course we are." Niall and I nodded

"Great." Dad beamed
