[POV: Narrator]
Andi stood by the sink, patting the last of the water from her hair with a towel. Her skin was still warm from the shower, fresh clothes and the faint scent of soap clinging to the room, but mostly to her.
She glanced at the doorway and saw Oscar leaning there, arms crossed, watching.
She went back to drying her hair. "What?"
Oscar didn't answer.
Andi frowned, shifting on her feet, "Really— what is it?" she snapped, her tone more pointed now. She didn't like feeling watched. She brushed a damp strand behind her ear, and went back to what she was doing.
He grinned — barely — and tilted his head like he was considering something. Then he stepped forward.
"Are you doing that on purpose?" he asked, fingers brushing over the edge of the doorframe.
Andi shot him a confused look. "Doing what?"
"That." His grin widened.
She blinked. "Don't be vague."
There was a laugh that came from her, but it was flat — more tired than amused. She turned back toward the sink, flipping her hair forward and working the towel through the ends. It was mostly dry now; Her fingers combed through the strands, twisting them into place, distracted. She wasn't really paying him any mind anymore.
When he just stood there some more, she rolled her eyes and stepped toward the kitchen — only to stop short when she realized he was in the way.
She looked up at him. "Move."
Oscar stared down at her, then he stepped aside and let her pass, trailing after her the moment she rushed by.
Behind her, he was quiet.
Andi exhaled sharply through her nose, ignoring the weight of his stare, and reached upward to grab a glass from the top shelf. The fabric of her shirt—soft, a little thin, still dampened and clinging faintly—shifted across her back as she moved.
She twisted to glance back at him. "Can I help you?"
No answer. Just that look.
She huffed and crouched to grab something from the bottom cupboard. When she straightened up, he was there. Andi flinched, startled, knocking the cupboard door shut with her hip
"Maybe," Oscar said, smile barely curling at the edge of his mouth.
Before she could speak, he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her cheek. His lips were warm.
She immediately pushed him back with a palm to his chest. "Okay, sheesh, you're just cocky because you won."
"Yep," he said, not even pretending to deny it. "That's why..."
And then he gripped her waist.
She had about two seconds to react before he was lifting her, hoisting her up and setting her on the kitchen counter.
"You have to be nice to me now," he added, stepping between her legs, placing his hands down behind her to block her in.
Andi narrowed her eyes, unimpressed. "That's borderline blackmail."
"Mhm." He leaned in again, giving her a kiss to her neck this time, slower.
She sucked in a breath and tried not to react. Her hands had planted against the edge of the counter, and she was determined not to move them.
"I can still taste the champagne on you," he said quietly, voice rough.
"Right," she cut in, embarrassed, laughing it off. "Enough with the flirting."
