The fetterer's work was never done. Your work was never done. It was only just beginning. You missed your home and the team. Adjusting to being a Valkyrie and a Queen was an adjustment you weren't ready for. The twins were safe with Hugin and Munin and safely entertained by stories about Loki and Thor as children, so you were safe to go track down your mischief husband and make sure he wasn't causing too much mischief as Allfather.
It wasn't hard to track him down. He was in the throne room, where he spent most of his time anymore. He was on the throne, trying not to look as bored as he felt. A bored Loki was a dangerous creature as you knew from experience. That was when his mischief and chaos tended to get the better of him and he found something more entertaining to occupy his brilliant mind. Most people didn't appreciate his brilliance as much as you did, though. Especially if they were on the receiving end of mischief.
So it was likely a good thing for the nine realms that you were coming to check on him and see how bored he was. Before he decided to turn the court into cats, or cabbages, or capybaras before he moved onto things that started with a new letter of the alphabet.
The guards opened the giant double-doors for you as you approached the throne room. There wasn't any hesitation on their part. With Loki as Allfather now, you were Queen, were Allmother, and treated as such. You nodded to them in greeting as you passed, stepping into the throne room. It was strange how far you had come in such short of a period of time.
Loki continued the proceeding he was handling as you made your way up to him, even as you took your place on your throne next to him. His words didn't falter, but it was clear to everyone that he noticed and doted on you as always. His posture shifted slightly as you approached so he could take your hand, could help you sit without taking his eyes from the petitioner in front of him. He kept your hand in his, always aware of your presence, always keeping you close to him without losing his words, his train of thought.
/A pleasure as always, my love/ he purred in your mind when you were settled in your throne. /But to what do I owe this unexpected visit?/
/I missed you, Mischief/ you replied, as you made sure your wings were tucked carefully against your back. The realm was still getting used to seeing Valkyrie in human form again and still in awe of it when they saw you around the court. You didn't hide what you were now, but you were still getting used to the extra stares for it. /I had to make sure you weren't getting too bored and turning people into cabbages. Or is it turning that poor cabbage merchant's cabbages into people again today?/ you asked, trying to brighten Loki's mood.
/That was last week. Such a delightful scene he made shouting about his cabbages/ Loki chuckled in your mind at the reminder.
/It was amusing, but the mess took forever to clean up/ you reminded him /And not something the realms want a repeat of from their Allfather/
/Being Allfather is boring/ he pouted in your mind, making sure to keep the pout off of his face.
/I can think of one activity that you find most enjoyable. Especially with the twins occupied being told stories by a certain pair of Valkyrie. Once the boring Allfather duties are done for the day/ you suggested enticingly.
/Shall we end the boring Allfather duties early?/ he asked eagerly.
You sent him the mental image of smacking him on the arm. /No cheating. Listen to the petitioners properly. Behave/ you scolded.
/Yes, darling/ he replied with the same contriteness that husbands across all nine realms gave their wives, but he behaved, eager to get through his work day to get to the activity he actually wanted to enjoy with his wife.
