Seungmin didn't go to school the next day.

Neither did Hyunjin, because there was no way he was leaving his brother alone, spiraling in his thoughts like that. Though he didn't say it aloud, he was just as worried as Seungmin was. He tried his best to keep Seungmin busy, suggesting random things to distract them, but the quiet ache of Minho's absence hovered over everything they did.

The morning passed in slow silence. Then, just as Hyunjin came back from the kitchen with a cup of warm tea for Seungmin, his phone buzzed.

A message from Chan.

"I didn't see Minho today either. He probably didn't show up to school."

Seungmin's frown deepened at Hyunjin's words.

But just then, his phone screen lit up.

A message from Minho.

Seungmin's heart nearly leapt out of his chest as he snatched the phone with trembling hands, unlocking it at lightning speed.

- Hi Seungminnie

- I'm really sorry for not showing up yesterday...I got sick, so I had to stay at home
- Can we please meet now?

His fingers flew across the screen, almost breaking it with how harshly he tapped out his response.

- What happened, hyung? Are you okay now?
- I really want to meet you
- We were so worried about you, hyung

Within seconds, Minho replied

- I'm okay now, I promise
- Please don't worry, I'm so sorry for making everyone stress like that

Seungmin's eyes were brimming.

- Why didn't you tell me you were sick, hyung?

- I'm sorry, Seungmin-ah...My battery died at some point. I really wasn't aware of anything

- Are you in school? I'll come there to see you

Seungmin quickly replied,

- No hyung, if you were that ill, how are you even going to come? Please rest, hyung. Should I come to meet you instead?

- Minnie, please...I want to get out from here. I'll feel worse if I stay

Seungmin didn't need more convincing.

- Okay, I'm at home right now

Hyunjin was already slipping on his jacket. "Let's go meet him halfway," he said gently.

Seungmin desperately nodded.

While they headed out, Hyunjin informed Chan that Minho had finally reached out, and unbeknownst to Minho, the others were already on their way to Seungmin and Hyunjin's place, excited and eager to surprise him.

As soon as Seungmin spotted Minho at the far end of the street, his feet began to move before his brain could even catch up.

He didn't care about the curious glances from strangers or how fast he was running, nothing mattered except that he could finally see him.

Minho stood there, pale and fragile in the afternoon light, his shoulders curled slightly inward. His eyes lifted when he saw Seungmin, and before either of them could speak, Seungmin crashed into him with a tight, desperate hug.

Seungmin wrapped his arms tightly around Minho's waist, burying his face into his shoulder. His body shook with the weight of his sobs, pouring out all the worry he'd held in.
