Chapter 24 NEW UPDATE!!!

Harry's POV...

"I'll kill her!" Malfoy taunts as I walk down the hallway with Kat by my side. She didn't seem to notice so I pretended like nothing happened. "So... will you o to Hogsmeade with me?" She asked, stopping in her tracks and turning to face me. Her eyes sparkled as they held hope. I studied the outlines of her face as she grinned and her fingers as they played with the hem of her shirt nervously. My eyes connected with hers once again. "You stole my line!" I whined, playfully stomping my foot as I failed to hold back a smile.  "So that's a yes?" She asked again smirking, knowing that it would bother me that she ignored my statement. I just nodded as she started jumping up and down grinning like a madman. "Calm down! Why'd you think that I would say no?" I asked, chuckling, as we continued walking down the long hallway, which held teenagers scattered across every which way. She shrugged her shoulders as she interlocked our fingers. I felt something crawl on my shoulder as I jumped and semi screamed. I turned to see Ron and Hermione laughing, looking like 5 year olds as they rolled around on the floor. Kat soon joined them as a frown made it's way onto my face. "Not funny!" I mumbled crossing my arms. "Y-yes it w-was!" Kat choked, holding her stomach, looking like she was going to laugh her insides out... I'm not joking! "Come on guys, we're going to be late for class! And today is the 3rd task!" I said as my stomach twisted into knots. They immediately stopped laughed. Wait what? Like seriously! How do you go from laughing/dying on the floor to being fine and all serious? I think I am the only normal one in this group! Ok maybe that's not true..... but you get the point! Kat stands up and grabs my hand. Hermione stands on my other side, and Ron stands beside Hermione. I swear they will get married when they are older! And I have an idea of who I will marry! I did not just think that did I? "Yes Harry, I think you did!" Hermione whispered in my ear. I jumped as the heat rose to my pale cheeks. "I said that out loud didn't I?" I asked groaning. She laughed and motioned to Kat who wasn't paying a bit of attention to us. "She didn't hear?"

"Nope." The bushy haired girl replied. Even though I have been her best friend for 4 years... sometimes she is so annoying!

We continue to walk down the hallway to Potions. I love Potions but I hate the Professor. Sirius told me the story of my dad, Remus, and himself calling Snape, Snivellus, (don't know if I spelled that right but oh well!) but seriously! It's just a schoolboy grudge! And he takes it out on Hermione too! I don't care if he takes it out on me but Hermione and Ron? That's when it crosses the line! "Kat!" I hear a familiar voice shout from across the hall. A girl with shoulder length light brown hair came into view. She had icy blue eyes and was a few centimeters shorter than Kat. I have seen her before... but where? "Eve!" I heard Kat greet next to me. Eve Jones! She was in the Hospital Wing when Snape sprained my wrist! "Hi Eve!" Hermione said beside me. The girl came running towards us. She was panting like a dog and had sweat dripping down her forehead. Okay something is wrong with her! "Oh my gosh! What happened?" Kat asked, pulling her into a hug. "Well... I actually don't really know. I was in the Great Hall, and my mouth started hurting really bad. And something sharp cut my tongue." She explained. "Like a sharp pain?" I asked, realizing that I had experienced the same things. She nodded. "By the way Harry, you aren't a vampire, Malfoy was playing a prank on you and have you fangs." She said and my heart soared. "Thank you!" I whispered, relieved that I wasn't a vampire. "But I think I am." She said quietly. My jaw dropped and Kat gasped. "My dad apparently was a half blood and was half vampire. He passed the gene down to me. I'm guessing." She mumbled, nervously playing with the hem of her shirt, like Kat had a few minutes ago. "Well we have to go to Potions, but we will talk to you after at free period okay?" Hermione and Kat chorused. "Freaky." I heard Ron mutter under his breath as Eve nodded. She ran off the other direction and we continued walking. Before we entered the classroom I heard Kat mutter one thing... "Why can't we just have one normal year?" And I agreed with her.
