I woke to find myself sinking.
Opening my eyes I panicked trying to sit up quickly. I realized there wasn't water around me...but air.  And I'm not on my rock bed. But an actual human mattress. Fear spiked in my heart. I didn't want to look down but I couldn't stop myself. I knew my tail wouldn't be there. Eyes round I stare at two olive toned human legs. And started screaming. I jump off of the mattress. My legs oh sea gods my legs wobble and I tumble to the ground  in a crumbled heep. Footsteps sounded outside the closed entrance. It's hard to breath. I don't know how. It feels off. And very weird.  The door swings open. I look up wide eyed. A human stood in the doorway. He stared at me. His dark blue eyes alert and steely, narrowed into slits. His face long and features strong like the curve of his jaw. Hair in a short wavy mess all over his head. He was exotic, his skin tan. He wore all black. His jacket and jeans and black combat boots the same color. He grabbed my chin. His eyes expecting. "You okay? Can you breath now?" He asked his voice emotionless. Staring him in the eyes I felt my panic switch to survival mode. This human took me from my home. He plans to kill me!
I. Am. Not. Okay!
Balling my hands up I punch him square in the jaw. And elbowed him in the shoulder. Catching him off guard, grunting he fell back. I tied to run. He grabbed my leg and suddenly his dark angry blue eyes were all I could see. He hovered on top of me.  but his face was to close to mine. A bit of blood was at the corner of his lips from where I kicked him. "If you leave, know that your dead" he said in a hard voice. I breath in shaky breathes. "Get off me" I huffed. Shaking.
This vile bottom feeder will not see me cry. He got up and offered me his hand. I glowered at him. And slapped It away from me. I hate humans... Standing up I swayed but stayed on my feet. As I stared down at my legs I saw I wore light yellow shorts. I touched the soft texture. Then looked at the white shirt I'm wearing.  It didn't go to my shoulders. It was kinda big on me. Like the shorts.
"I didn't know your size... There called clothing" his voice is still brutal but less angry. I glared at him. " I'm not stupid I know what clothes are... I've just never been in them before." I snide. He raised an eyebrow.  I wave it away "Know your enemy" I explained with a bite in my voice. Eyes icy. The human laughed. "I'm not the bad guy here," he shook his head. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Oh really? You took me from my home. You are holding me hostage! and besides that you are human" I glared at him.  "all of you stupid creatures are the enemy" I stated blandly at him.
He just continued to watch me. His eyes a cold calculating gaze.
Like chilly dark waters.
"I'm Alex" he introduced. His expression unchanging. I could care less what is name is.
" I'm part of a human group called Justify" he stated voice dull. "I am assigned to protect you, even against you will that's something I will do, " His eyes assessed me. "I don't like nor do i trust humans" I gave him a look then laughed. "And your race cannot protect me! You can't even protect yourselves, hell you harm each other!" I shook my head. "Idiotic Mongrels" I muttered under my breath.
The human named Alex snorted his face amused. "Says the superior mermaid caught by one." He raised another eyebrow. Anger coursed though me. I grinded my teeth together about to let him have it. He spoke before I did. "I could have killed you, I'm not the enemy" he walked away. "Remember that." He paused I turned around meeting his eyes, mine blazing.  "Nice right hook." he grunted then left. closing the door after him. He left me staring at the door in a fury.
Damn these humans.
