Energy
I left a while after. Melanie needs to talk to Tye alone. I swampassed a school of fish. They swim around me through my arms and the ponytail i my hair.
I giggled.
There excitement contagious. It fills me. I poke at some of the fish and they continue to move around me. I twirled my finger. I looked around me. There were no mermaids in sight. The water stir's and awakes.
I feel the energy flow threw me. electrifying and addicting. Closing my eyes i twirled my finger again. The fish get even more excited, moving more quickly around me. Energy swirls around the fish as my powers take hold of them. Like a wave underwater.
I poke at them a couple more times. Before full out laughing and swimming away. When i get to my cave i'm smiling. I see Finn waiting for me. He grinned wickedly.
"You ready for practice?" That was all the warning i had before he pounced.
he grabbed me and through me. The feel of the water against me was a little painful. I throw my tail out to the side to stop my momentum. and rush forward to Finn, using my powers the water quivers and rush's at my body. Busting up my speed. Finn swam to me. He is quick. Every mermaid is. spinning out of the way he turned into water itself. I sighed.
I hate it when he does that...
Honestly he shouldn't be able to, that is the power of the sea magic. But his father use to be a keeper. So Finn can funnel the energy i'm giving off and use it against me.
A keeper is the protector of guardians. There are only three, like guardians. Once Finns father died. His powers activated in Finn. Its not like that with guardians though. it skips genes. It plays tricks.
I pause and look around for Finn. All Keepers can funnel energy from gurdians, they can take a ton of power but not without a price. They feel a ton of pain, especially using their powers against a guridain. Not to mention they lose a ton of energy when they stop.
Finn always pays for teaching me how to control my powers. The thing is When Finn's dad died so did his mother. Finn appears and pushes me harshly. Then blasted waves at me. The water hits my chest, and sends we spiraling. I struggle to take in water. Pain searing me. I cried out.
"Stay alert!" Finn yelled in my head.
I crossed my arms above my head and begin spinning toward him. A huge title wave came from my hand and sucked him in. He vanished into water again.
Dammit!
"Finn!" I shouted in anger.
he appeared behind me. I felt his body in the water. Before i could turn around, he slapped me with his tail and i get sucked into the title wave. I screamed in surprise and a bit of fear, before it faded into the water. I breath hard and suck up oxygen. My gills on the side of my neck flaring.
"Are you trying to kill me?" I asked Finn tired.
Finn face was pained, probably not from my words but the practice. I swam over to him tiredly. I put my hands on his shoulders and send out the last bit of energy i had, into him. Exhaustion took over.
His arms wrapped around me as i passed out.
