"So," Gino started once I hopped into his car with him. "How's school been for ya'?"

That's a stupid question to ask. "Pretty good," I lied. "How about you?"

"About the same. I haven't been getting straight As, but who ever does? Besides the nerds and geeks obviously," he joked.

"Yeah," I sighed, looking out the window.

Gino looked over to me and remarked, "You're beautiful, you know."

Blushing, I answered, "Thanks."

"You're really cute when you blush."

My phone buzzed, so I took it out of my pocket.

Kalani: How's it going?

Maddie: He keeps on complimenting me. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

Kalani: He's just trying too hard. Don't worry, it's only until Josh want you back.

Maddie: Okay.

"Who are you texting?" Gino questioned.

"Just Kalani," I stated.

"Are you two like best friends or something?" he asked.

"Pretty much."

Neither of us said anything for the rest of the drive, which made it a little awkward, but it's okay I guess.

"So," Gino said, stretching out his 'O'. "What do you wanna' do?"

"Well, what can we do?" I asked, sitting on his floor.

"We could study if you want," he suggested.

"Sure." I shrugged my shoulders. We both pulled out a book and studied. Although, we couldn't do it together, considering we were both in different grades, which meant different classes.

After studying and finishing quite a lot of homework, I finally spotted Gino staring at me. I sat up and smiled at him. Even though it's been a pretty awkward 'date', I think I'm starting to like him.

"I think I like you," Gino remarked.

I smiled in response. Remembering that I have to be home by five-thirty, I announced, "I have to be home in a few minutes."

"Okay, I can drive you," Gino answered.

"M'kay," I replied, packing up my bag.

"You ready?" he asked after I finished.

"I should be," I laughed.

"Let's go then," Gino instructed as he waved me over. Giddily, I followed him out to his car where he drove me home.

"Goodbye," Gino started as I hopped out of the car at my house.

"Bye, Gino. See you tomorrow." I waved and received a half wave as he drove away.

"Hey, Mackenzie," I sighed as I walked into her bedroom. "How did it go today?"

"Omigosh! It was great! He asked me out!" Mackenzie squealed, jumping up off of my bed.

"But didn't you say someone else was already dating him or something?" I questioned.

"Was," Kenzie emphasized.

"Oh. Gotcha'," I answered.

"Yeah. I'm just hoping that Savannah isn't mad at me now," Mackenzie mused.
