A bright light is what I saw.

A great deal of warmth is what I felt.

"Hello there McKenna." An angelic voice called and I was confused.

How was I alive? I could've sworn I died or at least possibly unconscious from the excess amount of blood loss.

I looked down and saw that I was indeed, still in my body. But rather than having my fresh wounds, I was perfectly fine.

"Come over here my dear." I heard that same voice call out.

Since I didn't know what was happening, I didn't have any other options than to follow the voice.

"You were brave, and clever to see that sniper." The woman with a beautiful silky grey hair said to me as she stood by the tall tree.

We were in a meadow? But why did it look so familiar?

"Thank you." I said politely as I was wondering who she was and why did it feel as if she was powerful.

Like fate itself?

"I wasn't expecting you to take his place, McKenna." She said in a bitter tone. "But even you have the power to change fate and what I say."

Who ever this woman was, she was important. A goddess, is what I think she is.

"I apologize for changing your plans, but I'd take a bullet for Jett any day." I spoke sternly, I was not going to back down.

"I see." She whispered. "What if I told you, that you could go back into the world of living if you do me a favor?"

I furrowed my eyebrows together. Was she serious? Am I actually dead.

"Shit. I guess bullets really do damage to a person. I thought I would at least be in a coma." I mumbled to myself, not realizing that I said it out loud.

"Oh honey,  you are in a coma." She laughed and I was even more confused. "Your standing on the fatal line between life and death itself."

"I am?" My tone depicted that I was confused.

"Yes, you are. But you can easily fall back into the living world if you do a task. It's your choice whether you choose to accept it or not." She gingerly smiled as I say by her.

"I'm listening." I replied as I folded my arms over my chest.

"You know the man named Hector Willis." She said and my eyes widen.

Looking over she could tell that I did by my reaction.

"Good, I need you to kill him for me." I choked.

"You want me to kill Hector? May I ask why?" I blurted out without thinking first.

"He's a very vile person, McKenna. Hector has been using not only humans as his test subjects, but also werewolves and many other supernatural beings. He's not only violating my word, but many others as well. It's not human, it's disgusting." I was surprised, taken back from this news.

Hector was always nice to me. He would always call me and check up to see how I was doing. He promised me that he would do something meaningful with his research, that'd he would help the world for the better.

  He lied.

"He's been practicing a medicine he thinks that could make anyone or anything for that matter, immortal." The goddess said in disbelief and I was fighting an inner battle with myself. "Hector doesn't see his subjects as a failure nor a monster, he sees them as a weapon that could be used. But his weapons have a weakness."
