At The Door

Chapter 18

Sabrina's Pov
"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET!" I yelled at the tv. Mom and I were watching Bad Girls Club re-runs.
"That's right Erika! Beat Julie's butt!" Mom yelled.
"Dang y'all what's going on in here?" Dad said walking in.
"We are watching BGC Reunion." I answered still looking at the tv.
"Ok well I'm going to the studio for a little bit."
He kissed me on the forehead and kissed mom.
"Guys kid in the room." I said shielding my eyes. Goodbye kisses don't need to be that heated. They finally pulled away and they laugh at me.
"You'll be fine babe." Mom said chuckling.
"Ok. Bye guys." Dad said walking out.
"BYE!"

I turn back to the tv and realize that we missed the rest of the show. "REALLY!?"
"Calm down. Let's just watch the next season." Mom said. I nodded and handed the remote to her.
"Do you have gum mom?" I asked turning to her.
"Yeah go look in my purse." I walked over to her purse and looked inside. I saw the gum but I also saw a small, blue, teddy bear.
"Mama what's this?" I asked carefully taking it out and walking over to her. Her eyes widened and a smile spread across her face when she saw.
"I can't believe I forgot about it." She said taking it and holding it in her lap. I smiled at the sight of my mom smiling at the little bear. "His name is Bron." She giggled. "My grandma gave it to me when I was 8. It's the only thing I have from her. Beside the bracelet she gave me." I smiled at the bear then looked at mom.
"She was a great person wasn't she."
"The best grandmother anyone could ever have. Last time I saw her, she said that she would be in a box by the time I see her again." I nodded remembering her saying this on My Time Again.

I held mom's open hand and she took it giving it a little squeeze. "I miss her so much." She spoke quietly. Her head fell and she stared at her lap. I squeezed her hand letting her know that it was okay. She let go to wipe her eyes. I rubbed her back trying to calm her but she bursts into quiet sobs. I got up and stood in front of her. "You're okay mom. She's looking down at you and she wouldn't want you crying. I know that she is proud of you and what you've become." I smiled and so did mom.
"You're such a good kid." She said standing up to hug me.
"You're such a good mom." I said hugging back and earning a giggle from her. "We need to find something to eat." I said pulling away but keeping her hand in mine. She nodded and we walked downstairs.

"What do you want to eat?" She asked me leaning on the kitchen counter.
"I need Popeyes." Her eyes widened and she yelled," YAAASSSSS!!!" I laughed at her as she danced around and ran back and forth the kitchen.
"MOM!" I yelled laughing my head off. She froze at the sound of my voice and turned red with embarrassment.
"I haven't had Popeyes in forever." She said quietly looking down. She's so embarrassed! I'm trying so hard not to laugh but she's red! 😂😂😂

"It's fine mom. Let's go." I said, with little giggles escaping my mouth.

At Popeyes

"So Bri... You are starting the home schooling next Monday." Mom said breaking off a huge piece of chicken then stuffing it into her mouth. I nodded biting into biscuit.
"Mom. I've decided that I wanna go to a regular high school after this year."
"That's fine babe. You are in 8th grade. Are you sure you're ready? That will the your first time in an actual school." Mom said. I thought for a little bit.
"I think I'm ready... I honestly don't know what to expect so I'll have to wait and see." She nodded and we continued eating and having small talk.

*ring ring*

"Really?" Mom mumbled. She was in the middle of eating a thigh. She put it down and answered.

N- Hello?

D- Hey babe. Where y'all at?

N- We're at Popeyes.

D- Okay. Bring me se back. Bye.

N- Bye.

I heard the whole conversation since mom put it on speaker. I guess she really didn't want to put down that chicken.

Nicki's Pov, Back at Home

"Here you go babe." I said handing Drake his food and sitting on the bed next to him.
"Thanks. Where's Bri?" He asked opening up his food.
"She walked into her room and collapsed onto the bed." I giggled.
He nodded and ate his chicken.

The Next Day

I woke up next to... No one. I frowned and got out of the bed and into the bathroom to do my business and get cleaned up.

I walked down the hallway and knocked on Sabrina's door. "Jeushsndmakiahx!" She yelled. I laughed and opened the door to see her sitting up and staring at the tv. Which was off.
"What is you going through Bri!?" I said laughing harder. She shrugged and got up. She was already dressed and cleaned up. "Have you seen your dad?" I asked as we made our way down the hall and downstairs.
"I was just waking up and I heard someone walking down the hallway. Then I heard the door close." She answered taking a seat on the other side of the counter.
"Oh.." I said taking out some things for breakfast.

We ate in silence until we heard the door open. I saw Drake, looking like he was sneaking in. He froze once he saw us. "What are you doing?" Sabrina asked.
"I-I was just trying to be quiet. So I wouldn't... Wake you?" He said, stumbling over his words and sounding unsure. With that, he went upstairs. I looked at Bri and she looked at me. Something is up, I just don't know what.

"Sooooo...." Sabrina said obviously suspicious of Drake too. "What do you have planned today?" She asked me.
"Well I-" I was cut off by my phone ringing.

N- Hello?

C- Nicki please tell me you're ready.

N- Oh hai Candi! Ready for what?

C- Really Nic!? You and Sabrina have an interview for Ellen.

N- THATS TODAY!?

C- Nic, just make sure you two look presentable. I have clothes here. We are on our way.

With that she hung up. "I totally forgot that we had an interview today." Bri said picking up the plates and putting them into the sink.
"Same here I said." We then went upstairs to get changed.

I walked into my room and saw Drake laying on the bed on his phone. I walked into the. Closet and put on a pair of grey sweats and a black crop top. Drake didn't even notice me so I just walked out.

Sabrina was just walking out to and we were matching. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" We laughed at the totally ironic moment.
*HONK*
"That should be them." I said. We jogged downstairs, went outside, and got into the limo.
"Like mother like daughter. Mm mm mm." Candi said shaking her head. Bri and I just sat there giggling. 

Drake's Pov

"Ok. You too. Bye." I said hanging up the phone. I was talking to my publicist about a project I've been working on. "Nicki!?" I called out. I searched the whole house for Nicki and realized that Bri was gone too. I called both of their phones and neither of them answered. Well dang. They probably went out.

I lay back on the bed. I turned on the tv when I heard,"Please help me welcome Nicki Minaj and Sabrina Maraj." I stopped on the channel and saw my wife and kid on Ellen.

I watched for a while and it was a regular interview. "So how's Drake?" Ellen asked looking at Nicki. I instantly felt a little nervous.
"Umm... I don't know. I haven't talked to him all day. He out a lot so you would have to ask him."

Why would she say that. I have a feeling that she's just trying to make me look bad. We'll have a talk about this.
