My dream started like this.
I was standing at the edge of a cliff and my Mom and Dad are on the other side of the chasm, waving at me looking terrified. I was figuring out how to get there when I heard a cackling laughter from deep inside the chasm. A large red figure shot out into the sky, it's laughter almost deafening. I plugged my fingers into my ears trying to block out the insane laughter but to no avail. I looked up to see my parents fading away. They were like mists blown by the wind and the next second, they were gone. I screamed after my parents but there was nothing left from the place they were just standing on.
My eyes shot wide open and I can feel cold droplets of sweat trickling down my face. I'm awake. No chasm. No crazy laughter. No disappearing parents. I let out a sigh of relief. I took a glance at my alarm clock and realize that it's a little well over past 9. I guess I slept too much.
I turned around and saw Nick beside me, sleeping in a fetal position. He slightly moved but doesn't look anywhere near waking up.
I scooted over to get down from the bed and go to the bathroom. I inhaled deeply and the smell of bacon hit my nose. I was confused cause Nick and I are up here so who could be making breakfast? I grabbed my bat and slowly headed downstairs. if you're wondering why I have a bat, well the it's because I live alone and you can never be too careful.
I crept down the stairs and moved silently into the kitchen. I was about to go all gangstah on this intruders ass when she turned around and I was greeted by the most warm smile ever.
"G-grandma?!", I stuttered, gulping the lump in my throat. What the hell is she doing here? And why is she cooking breakfast for me? She never does that. Ever.
"Oh hi, dearie. It's been a long time since I saw my little girl.", she pinched my cheeks and I swatted her away. " Oh right. You're not a little girl any more. No more pinches for grandma huh? Well, I brought you groceries and I came here to give you your monthly allowance. I also cooked you and 'your friend' some breakfast. Well, where is he? Still asleep?"
"Huh? What friend?", I nervously asked.
" Well, the one who owns the motorcycle parked out front. I don't suppose that's yours since you don't even know how to ride a bicycle, much less a motorcycle.", Grandma pursed her lips.
I began sweating again, this time because of panic. I have to think of something before Grandma searches the whole house for this 'friend' and find Nick inside my room sleeping like a baby with saliva dripping from his mouth.
"Uh. Well, you see Grandma-", I was cut off by a series of footsteps coming from the stairs. Nick's voice rang out. " Hey babe. Whatcha cooking? Smells deliciou-". This time, he's the one who got cut off when he saw my Grandma's shocked wrinkly face.
Grandma regained her composure in a matter of seconds despite Nick's appearance. He's buckling the belt of his pants and his shirt hung over her shoulder. His face is burning bright crimson from humiliation. He quickly put on his shirt and muttered an embarrassed " I'm sorry."
" That's alright, Nicholas. I never knew you and Mona were now a couple. I always thought you two are just friends. ", Grandma says, intrigued.
"Well, what did you cook Grandma?", I cleared my throat to steer the conversation away from Nick and me.
"Oh! There's bacon, eggs, waffles and juice. Come and help me set the table Nicholas so we can all eat.", Grandma brushed past me and pulled a stunned looking Nick to the table. Nick eventually got over his embarrassment and helped Grandma set the table up.
