I stuffed some of my belonging in my duffel bag while listening to music. I was going home after many years.
Home. The small town of West Chester, Pennsylvania. Admittedly, I missed it.
I moved to Nashville when I was 15 to live with my Aunt Julie, or Aunt JuJu, as Bam, Jess, and I call her.
I moved because my aunt was in a very vulnerable state after her husband died in a factory accident. I came to help her out.
But just recently, she passed away unexpectedly and my brother Bam and my mother April have been calling me, convincing me to come home. And after much convincing from Bam, Dunn, and Ape, I'm going home back to West Chester.
As I checked through my bag to make sure I had the little things like my phone chargers, my phone rings. I pull it out of my pocket and roll my eyes and hit ignore.
I broke up with Steven, my boyfriend, over a year ago and he's still calling begging for forgiveness no matter how much I tell him to 'go fuck himself' to 'go burn I hell' to 'leave me the fuck alone' and all that fun stuff.
I zipped up my duffel up and grabbed my other bag and my skateboard and walked out of the house.
I locked the door and put my bags in the back of my truck and when I was rolling out of the driveway I texted Bam.
Me: hey, I'm leaving the house now. About to hit the road.
Bam: sweet! See you in a few hours
Me: sure thing
I put my phone on the seat and drove out of town and got on the highway. West Chester here I come.
And I case you're wondering, my name is Josephine Margera but everybody just calls me Joey. My brothers are Jess and Bam, my parents are April 'Ape' and Phil, and one of my uncles, unfortunately, is Vincent or 'Vito'. Bam and I are twins so we look alike. I have long black hair and blue eyes, and I love to skateboard and I love music. I actually have a dream of becoming a musician. As you already know from earlier, my Aunt passed away unexpectedly and before that I was dating a total jackass, not the kind that is like the movies that my brother is in, but the actual jackass.
