~Joey's Point of View~
*A Few Weeks Later*
A few weeks later the guys and I were at work planning Bam's surprise party.
We decided to invite his other friends, and our family. Steve-O was in charge of that, Novak and Dunn were on decorations and stuff. Chris and Johnny were in charge of getting all of Bam's favorite foods, and I was in charge of helping them all and keeping it away from Bam.
And another task I gave myself was getting him a good gift.
I sat in my bean bag in my room and I was trying to figure out what to get your twin brother who's a skateboarder and already had a lot.
I just knew I had to do something big for Bam for our birthday. But I didn't have much money.
I racked my mind for something, he was probably going to do something big for me, he always does on our birthday. I had to return the favor.
Then it occurred to me.
I picked up my phone and searched for it. It wasn't much...I hope he likes it.
After a few hours when I had it down I texted my mom.Me: are you home?
Mom: yes
Me: do you still have those photo albums that have pictures of Jess, Bam, and I?
Mom: ...yea?
Me: I'll be over in a fewI put my phone in my boot and got up and went downstairs.
Johnny was slunk down on the couch just relaxing. I went up behind him and I bend over the back of the couch and my hair blocked out the world.
"Hey," I say
He smiles, "Hi." he says
"What're ya up to?" I ask
"Just chilling." he says, "Thinking about your birthday."
I roll my eyes, "Please don't." I say
"Why not?" he asks
"I don't want you to feel obligated to get me something for my birthday." I say
"I don't," he says, "I WANT to get you something for your birthday."
"You already did." I say
"What's that?" he asks
I lean closer to him and say, "You."
He smiles and kisses me and reaches up and grabs my shirt and pulls me on the couch and I giggle as I laid with my legs dangling over the back of the couch on my back.
He leans over me and says, "But that's not enough. And besides, I'll always be yours."
I smile and he leans down and kisses me again and my heart melts.
He pulls away slightly and I say, "There's no way I'm going to convince you otherwise is there?"
He pecks my lips and whispers, "No."
I laugh and he does too and then I playfully push him away and get up off the couch.
"Fine." I say, "Just nothing too big."
"Alright." he says
"I'm going to run to my mom and dad's for a quick sec." I say standing up, "I'll be back."
He grabs my hips and pulls me on his lap
"Aren't you forgetting something?" he asks
I chuckle and lean in and kiss him, I was half tempted to stay there and with him. But if I didn't go I'd never get it done.
I pull away and he tucks some hair behind my ear and and leans in to kiss me again but I stand up before he can.
"I'll be back." I call and he laughs
"Alright. Be careful." he says
"Always am." I say and I grab my keys and leave Castle Bam.****
I pull up in mom and dad's driveway and I get out and go through the front door.
"Hello?" I call out
"In here!" mom calls from the living room.
I go in and she was sitting on the couch and dad was in the armchair.
"Hey." I say and I bend over the couch and kiss mom on the cheek.
"Hey Joe." mom and dad say
"I pulled out all the albums out from the basement for you. Why do you want them?" mom asks
"Mine and Bam's birthday." I say
She gives me a worried look, "Don't worry ma." I say, "It's nothing to be worried about."
"Whatever you say." she says, "The box is in the kitchen."
"Thank you." I say and go into the kitchen and find the box labeled 'Memories; Kids'.
I pick it up and head to the door and say,
"I'll see you guys later."
"Wait!" mom says, "What are you kids don't for your birthday?"
I shrug, "I don't know. I'll have to talk to the guys. I'll let you know as soon as I know." I say
"Okay. Love you." mom says
"Love you too!" I call and walk out the door.
I put the box of photo albums in my truck and pull out of mom and dad's driveway.
I pull up to the gate, punch in the code, and drive up the driveway.
I get out and I go inside and I stick my head around the doorway and see Johnny sitting there still, "Hey, is Bam here yet?" I ask
"No." he says
I go around the corner and Johnny says,
"Ooh, what's in the box?"
"Come upstairs and you'll see." I say and head for the stairs and Johnny follows.
We go into my room and Johnny closes the door and I set the box down beside the bean bag and plop down in it and open it.
Johnny sits next to me and I pull out a photo album with my mom's handwriting on a small piece of paper that read 'Birth-3.
"These are pictures from when Bam and I were kids." I say
Johnny wraps an arm around my shoulders and I open the book. The first picture is of Bam and I when we were born. Mom was holding Bam and dad was holding me. The scrap booking had little baby rattle stickers and on Bam's side it said in blue letters 'It's A Boy!' and on my side it said in pink letters, 'It's A Girl!' and in the middle at the bottom of the page in pink and blue letters it said, 'Twins! Baby Brandon and Baby Josephine!'
"You were a beautiful baby." Johnny says and I chuckle.
The next picture was of mine and Bam's first professional picture together.
The next picture was our other brother Jess sitting in between us and the caption said, 'Brother Jessie sitting with the twins'. Then our first Halloween together. We were in matching onezies that said 'I Cast A Spell Upon You'. And there were pumpkin stickers and black cat stickers and at the bottom it said 'Brandon and Joey's first Halloween'.
Johnny and I laugh and the next picture was me and Bam laying next to each other, a few months old, on a blanket in our room with some baby toys. The caption said 'Brandon and Joey playing' and there were random little stickers.
The next page was Christmas time and Bam and I were sitting by the tree. Bam was leaned over and it looked like he was kissing my head. The caption said, 'Brandon and Joey first Christmas. Brandon giving Joey a kiss.'
Johnny and I laugh and he says, "It looks like your guys bond started early."
I smile and we continue to look at the pictures.
"Look at this one!" Johnny exclaims while laughing.
It was a picture of mine and Bam's 3rd birthday. I had shoved Bam's face in the cake. The caption said, 'Brother and Sister love.'
We move on through the photo albums. Recapping mine and Bam's childhood.
"Why do you have these?" Johnny asks after he got done laughing at a picture of Bam and I sitting up in a tree.
"For Bam's birthday present." I answer
Johnny looks at me worriedly, "Why does everybody just assume the worst?" I ask
He laughs and says, "Well, you and your brother are called 'the evil twins' for a reason."
"I guess," I say, "But that's not why I have these. I have a different idea in mind."
"Like what?" Johnny asks
"If I tell you then it wouldn't be a surprise." I say
He laughs and we continue to look at the pictures.
Eventually we heard a knock at the door and I quickly put the album I had back and kicked the box under my bed and picked up my tablet.
"Come in." I say unlocking my tablet.
As I suspected, in comes Bam.
"What are you two laughing at?" he asks
"We were just watching a funny video." I say discreetly pulling up Youtube and typing the first funny video I could think of.
Bam looks at us suspiciously and then sits down on the bed.
"So Bam Bam." I say
"Yes Pebbles?" he says
"I was talking to mom today and she wanted to know if we were doing anything for our birthday." I say
Johnny and Bam look at each other and then Bam says, "I don't know. Maybe."
I look between them and say, "What was that?"
"What was what?" Bam asks
"That look." I say, "You two looked at each other like there's something I don't know. What is it?"
"Nothing." they say
"Anyway, I'll let you two get back to your weird couple stuff." Bam says and gets up and leaves.
I look at Johnny and decide against asking about the look with Bam.
"So," Johnny says, "Will you tell me what you're planning for Bam?"
I roll my eyes and I lean in and whisper in his ear what I had planned.
"I love it." Johnny says, "I can help you with the slide show if you want me to."
