Chapter Nine - The Return of the Demon

Johnny and I sat there looking at each other. Johnny had just confessed his love for me and now it was my turn. But for some reason I couldn't find my voice and I felt as if time was running out.
I was so scared to tell him. I was afraid that if I told him I loved him that somewhere down the road, I'd do something to screw it up, like I supposedly did with Steven.
"I love you Joe." Johnny says again, "I have since you walked in that door when you came home. And it hasn't changed since."
I was hanging on ever word that he said.
I couldn't seem to get the words out, so I did the next thing I could think of.
I leaned in and planted my lips on his and hoped he understood what I was trying to say.
He kisses me back and tangles a hand in my hair and I run a hand through his.
We pull away and we were both out of breath. Our foreheads rested against each other and we laced our hands together.
"I love you too Johnny." I whisper and he smiles, which makes me smile too.
We kiss again and nothing else mattered. In this moment it was just Johnny and I, nothing could ruin this night.
We pull away again and he tucks some hair behind my ear and says while taking the box from my hand, "So, do I still need to take the bracelet back?"
"Mm," I say taking it back, "I change my mind."
We laugh and he says, "Good, cause I wasn't going to. I was just going to keep pestering you until you accepted it."
I laugh and he picks up the bracelet and he puts it on my right wrist.
"There." he says and laces his right hand with my left.
I rest my head on his shoulder again and we were silent for awhile.
"There's one more thing." he says and pulls his phone out but keeping the screen turned away from me so I couldn't see.
He sets the phone next to his leg and says,
"This...is probably going to be really cheesy, but bare with me."
He taps the screen of his phone and the next second music starts playing from it.
I instantly recognized the music to 'Roller Coaster' by Luke Bryan and I giggle.
"It seemed fitting." Johnny says
I look at him and squeeze his hand and say,
"Thank you."
"For what?" Johnny asks
"For giving me everything I've ever wanted. For giving me the best birthday ever. I love you."
He smiles and says, "I love you Joey."
We lean in and kiss. We kiss for awhile until I heard a whistle and then hear,
"Joey! Come on you have a party to be at!" calls Steve-O's voice.
"Don't make me come up there and get you." Bam threatens and Johnny and I laugh.
"We'll be there in a minute." I call
I turn my attention to Johnny again and say,
"I wonder how much of that they heard."
He chuckles,
"Probably all of it. But it doesn't matter." he says and tucks some hair behind my ear and I giggle.
"I love you Josephine Margera." he says
"I love you too Johnny Knoxville." I say
He leans in to kiss me and I say, "Bam really will come up here and get us if we don't go."
"Oh, then lets go." he says and I laugh as we head down to the ladder.
When we were both off the ladder we lace our hands together and head back towards the house to join the party.
Johnny takes me back out on the dance floor. He pulls me close once we were far enough into the crowd and he wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap mine around his neck.
It was a magical moment and it was easily the best birthday I ever had.
Just then someone taps my shoulder and it makes me jump a little.
I turn around a little and a wave of anger flood through my veins when I see his face.
Steven John Louis.
"What are you doing here?" I snarl
"Hello to you too Joey. Nice to see you." he says with a cocky smile.
"Who's this?" Johnny asks
"Johnny, this is the son of a bitch ex boyfriend I told you about." I say not taking my eyes off of Steven.
"I was a wee bit disappointed when I didn't get an invitation to your party. I had to hear about it off of Facebook." Steven says
"Did it occur to you that you weren't invited for a reason?" Johnny asks
"Nobody asked you you loser." Steven says glaring at Johnny.
Johnny pushes me behind him and gets in Steven's face and says, "I don't care whether or not you were talking to me you stupid fuck. Joey doesn't care about you anymore, why don't you get that?"
"Oh she does," he says, "She still cares about me. She's just confused. Hit her head too many times fucking other guys."
"Watch your mouth you asshole. You have no right coming here and talking to Joey like that. Now I suggest you get the fuck out of here." Johnny says
"What are you going to do, huh? Punch me? Kick my ass? I'd like to see you try." Steven says
"Johnny, no." I say and I grab his arm.
"What's going on over here?" asks Steve-O's voice from behind me.
"Steven was just leaving." I say
"I'm not going anywhere." Steven says
"Wanna bet?" Bam says stepping up pushing Johnny out of the way, "You're trespassing on my property dumb fuck, I suggest you get on out of here before I call the cops on your ass."
Steven and Bam have a stare down while the rest of us and some other guests watch with anticipation on what'll happen next.
"Fine. But this won't be the last time you'll hear from me." Steven says and then casts a look at me and says, "You think your little boyfriend and jackass of a brother can stop me from talking to you? You're sorely mistaken."
"Leave." I say, "Now."
He looks at me for awhile and then turns and leaves.
"Go make sure he leaves." Bam says and Ryan and Chris follow close behind him.
Johnny turns towards me and says, "Hey, you okay?"
"I'm fine." I say glaring in the direction Steven went.
"He has some balls showing up here." I say
"No doubt. But forget about him. It's over." Johnny says and makes me look at him and smiles, knowing it was going to cause me to smile.
"I love you." I say
"I love you too." Johnny says and we kiss.
