Draconics

Chapter 8

I turned back to the necklace. Picking it up and studying it closer, I saw that it wasn't just a silver necklace with three silver dragon charms on it. The dragons looked terrified, and were each holding a different color orb. The one on the left was holding a purple orb, the middle a turquoise, and the right a dark blue-green.

"Did you guys notice these orbs they're holding?" I asked Tycho and Ryan as I was turning around.

"Not until you mentioned them," Ryan said. Tycho nodded. Then he snatched the necklace from me and sniffed it. Of course I had to be linked to the weird dragon.

"This smells like draconic," he said. I looked at him annoyedly.

"Oh yeah, that explains everything. Did it ever come to mind, though, that it belongs to Nokomis, a draconic?" I said. Tycho glared at me.

"No, like, frozen draconic. Nokomis smells terrible." He said.

"And how do you know what frozen draconic smells like?" Ryan asked. We exchanged glances then looked back to Tycho to see his response.

"I've smelled frozen stuff and I've smelled draconics. It's not hard to put two scents together." he said matter-of-factly. Ryan and I rolled our eyes in unison.

"Makes sense, coming from you............ I guess........" I said. Tycho hissed. 

"But if you're right about frozen draconic smell meaning frozen draconics, then that may be why she wants this. She wants whoever she froze. But why?"

"Well, what if they're of some value to her? Prisioners supposed to help her with something maybe." Ryan said, being actually smart for once.

I gasped. "Her apprentices! The ones that supposedly died, even though no bodies were found! They were purple, turquoise, and dark blue-green, according to my book!" Tycho and Ryan gasped.

"So you're saying she turned them into a cool silver necklace?" Tycho said. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah. I thought that was obvious." I said. Then I hid the necklace back in its spot.
