The rest of the day went by quickly.

Then it was nightime. I was lying on my bed, half asleep, when suddenly someone burst through my window.

"YOU GAVE ME A FAKE!!!!" the person, now obviously Nokomis, screeched. "A FAKE!!!!"

"You think I'd give you the real thing?" I asked.

"Well, yeah, I was hoping you would. But then you FAKED IT!!!! YOU WILL PAY!!!!"

I laughed a little, it was a weird response, but Nokomis didn't seem to think so. She flew above me, then dove at me. I rolled off my bed, grabbed and ran out the door as Nokomis got a face-full of pillow. I ran down the hall.

"MOM! DAD! RYAN! CATS!" I called on my way to the back door.

Mom and Dad must have been sleeping pretty deeply, because only Tycho, Ryan, and Meecha came running with me.

"What's wrong?!?!" Ryan asked, running beside me. Nokomis screeched, and he looked back at her.

"Oh."

I opened the back door and the four of us ran out and immediately took flight, heading toward Draegonicus. Nokomis wasn't far behind. I almost dropped my book a couple of times, but soon we reached Draegonicus. We landed, then ran to the Dragon Hills as fast as we could. At this point, Tycho was in the lead.

I would've asked where we were heading, but for now we had lost Nokomis in the winding hills and I figured we should probably keep it that way. Tycho led us into a crystal mine, emerald by the look of it, and whenever we came to a fork in the path, we went left. Eventually we reached a large chamber full of emeralds in the walls. There were plants, strange ones I had read about in my book of course, and a river that fell down a ledge into a pool on our level. Ryan and I gasped.

"Welcome to our hangout." Tycho said with a smile.

"We discovered it years ago, and since then it's pretty much been our second cave."

"Second...... cave?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah, we got bored of the one we shared with our parents and went out exploring for a better one. It was too dark." Meecha said.

"And small and boring." Tycho added.

"So we came here when we had free time, until we met you guys anyway. So now you guys can come here too!" Meecha finshed.

"Those are Satoniteo Specusdegero, right?" I asked, pointing to one of the glowing green plants lighting up the cave.

"Sataneo specsdewhato?" Ryan asked. Tycho rolled his eyes.

"Cave glowplant." He said. "It's really useful for all kinds of stuff."

I smiled a little, I had memorized some of the plants and creatures from my book that were useful (with Tycho's help, he knew a surprizingly large amount about plants) and I was glad it was paying off. But then I realized something.

"The necklace! I left it at home!"

Everyone frowned.

"We have to go get it!" Ryan said.

"But how? Nokomis is searching everywhere for us!" Meecha said.

I looked a Tycho. He looked at the glowplant. We both smiled.
