Chapter Four: Best Friends and Fighting

Grayson's POV:
"Dude WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Ethan says clearly pissed at me.
"I was just doing the dare Ethan okay." I say, annoyance laced in my voice.
"WELL IT'S OBVIOUS YOU LIKE HER AND THAT I LIKE HER TO!" Ethan screams.
"CHILL IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE DATING MY GOD." I yell right back at him.
"Whatever." Ethan mumbles before walking away. WHY is he so pissed off about this? Me and Maddie aren't dating even though I want to date her, the kiss meant nothing it was for the dare. But it was my first kiss. I might be famous and a bunch of girls like me but I've never dated any of them let alone kiss them. I'll just sleep on it.

Maddie's POV:
I pennyboarded to the park to clear my mind on everything that just happened. There I see a boy pinning a girl to a wall.
"HEY" I say. "STOPPIT"
"What're you going to do about it you're a girl." He says mockingly.
"THIS." I yell before my fist made hard contact to the guys face. He stumbles away covering his nose that was now bleeding.
"You're insane." He says backing away.
"YOU'RE A JERK." I fire right back at him. He runs away with his hand still covering his nose.
"Thanks." The girl mumbles.
"No problem. I'm Maddie by the way. I just moved across the street from the Dolan's." Her eyes widen.
"The Dolan's. OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO HOTTTT. I like Ethan though. I'm Avery by the way." She says, her face becoming red.
"Yeah they're definitely hot. I like Grayson though." I say getting red too.
"So what was that all about?" I say.
"That was my ex-boyfriend. It's a loooong story." She says extending the 'o'.
"Trust me, I've got time." I say back to her.
"Fine." She says.
"When we were dating he would be abusive. He still is in fact. What you just saw there was a little taste of it. I told my parents but they didn't believe me because he seems like the 'perfect guy', he's the captain of the football team and all the girls want him. He tried to pressure me into stuff I didn't want to do, I broke up with him, he punched me, kicked my stomach, and shoved me into a wall before running away. He's still the same to me, only we aren't dating."
"That's terrible. Why wouldn't your parents believe you?!" I say shocked. My parents would believe me no matter what.
"They aren't exactly the greatest parents in the world I guess." She says embarassed.
"Hey want to come over?" I say hopefully.
"Um, sure!" She says excitedly. "I'm never usually invited over to someones house." She says looking down.
"Why on Earth not!" I say.
"I'm not popular, I'm an outcast."
"No you're not!" She was about to argue but stopped herself. I think me and Avery are going to get along pretty well. We started talking about high school, man am I going to miss summer.
