Phil’s POV
I try not to freak out when some random girl comes on stage screaming about bombs, heck who am I kidding I’m lucky I didn’t piss myself. She grabbed my arm and I question wrenching it out of her arm, but I don’t, thinking that it might make this situation worse. So I being the wuss I am awkwardly just kind of let her hold it. That is until she grabs Dan’s too and then dives off the stage. She literally DIVES OFF THE STAGE. Of course since she’s holding my arm I get thrown off too, Dan in toe. I’m thinking about how lucky I am I didn’t scream like a girl when we hit the floor and it hurt a lot. But I quickly forget that when the whole stage EXPLODES. That’s when I realize she wasn’t joking. There had ACTUALLY been a bomb. This random girl who a moment before I thought was totally insane had actually saved my life, and Dan’s too. I look over at her. I see her bright green eyes for a moment before she passes out. The whole room is in chaos when I sit up. I’m a little dizzy and I hurt like hell, but I don’t really think about all that when I see her. This girl, she had to have known before hand. How did she know? She’s so small. Probably no more than five foot two or three. Her skin is pale, so very pale and perfect, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone with such perfect skin. Her hair is red, not like brownish red or blondish red, but real red, bright beautiful copper red and its long. So long. Its flown out all over her, pieces of the stage in it. I remember her eyes too. She almost looked happy before she passed out, like she had been happy that she saved me? Maybe I guess I could hope.
I glance over to Dan who had stirred, he must have been knocked out from the fall. I crawl over to him as he opens his eyes.
“Dan?” I ask, I silently pray he’s ok.
“Phil? Where…what…what’s going on?” He asks, he looks so confused. I try not to laugh at him.
“Well we were just about to do our meet and greet show and then this girl came up and screamed about bombs. She grabbed our arms and then dove off of the stage. I think you may have hit your head…and then a bomb actually went off. It was huge.” I try to explain. He looks confused for a moment and then I think I see everything click in.
“OH MY GOD! Is she ok?” He asks. I’m glad to see him less confused. I look down to the mystery life saver. She’s still out and I see blood on the back of her head. I try not to pass out. I’m not so good with blood.
“I don’t know Dan, she must of gotten hit by a piece of the stage.” I say. He looks at her and then at me and then back at her.
“We need to get her help Dan", I say attempting to stand up. My leg is killing me but I don’t even look to see if its ok. I just gather her small frame up into my arms and turn to Dan who is slowly getting to his feet, wincing as he goes. “You gonna be ok?” I ask him.
“Yah, I’ll be fine, lets go.” He replies. I nod my head and then look around. By this point most of our fans have either left the room or were getting medical help in the back. No one seemed to be extremely bad off, but I still worried for them.
I walk, or rather limp back to the back and call over a medical assistant as I lay the girl on the floor. He looks down and then quickly gets to work. He kind of takes over so I sit down on the ground next to the girl. She has a bag, and though I feel awkward going through her things, I reach in and look for a wallet or her phone or something. Her phone is completely ruined. I can’t even get it to turn on. I wince, knowing how lost I’d be without my phone, but move on looking to see if there was anything else. I finally feel my hand rub across a wallet. I smile to myself as I pull it out and flip it open. Inside is some bills, mostly British pound notes, but there are some American dollars too. I pull out her identification license to see a picture of her from maybe two years ago. I see her name is Avalon McLaren and she is 23 years old. I check her address and am surprised to see she lives in York, not that far from where Dan and I live. Its funny to me, she lives so close to us, yet she seems so far away. I look back over to her, to see that there are several more medical personal now, they all are doing stuff. I don’t want to get in the way, but I have this unnatural overwhelming fear that she won’t be ok. That she’ll die and I’ll never get to know her, to thank her for saving my life. I grab her hand, it’s cold, and that scares me.
I turn to look at Dan, he looks like he’s going to be sick. “Are you sure you’re ok mate?” I ask him. I really am worried. He seems to have been hit so much worse than me. A medical person walks over to him and starts asking him questions. I sigh and turn back to the girl, I’m glad that someone is looking out for Dan.
Some of the medical people are moving out of the way now. I look down to see the green eyes of Avalon. I smile thinking of her name. I think it’s pretty. “Hey how are you feeling?” I ask. As her eyes meet mine, I wonder if I could possible sound any more awkward. She seems pretty coherent and that makes me feel better. She tries to smile but it’s more of a grimace, whelp good feeling gone.
“I feel like a bomb just exploded.” She said. I looked at her and tried not to laugh. I really wasn’t sure if she was serious or not, and that’s when she burst out laughing. It was cute, her laugh.
“I’m joking silly.” She says as I turn red. She was so cute.
“You ok?” she asks.
“Yah, I’m fine, a little freaked.” I replied honestly.
She looks at my face and then grins again, “Your face when I grabbed your arm and threw you off the stage. I thought you might die of fright.” She laughs.
I smile, “Well you did scream bomb like a mad person…” I chuckled.
She laughed again. I liked making her laugh, it made me feel good. “Is Dan ok too?” She asks. I had completely forgot about him. I suddenly felt guilty as I turn to look at my best friend. Hes looking at me with a smirk on his face. He looks a lot more stable and like he’s enjoying watching me make a fool of myself.
“Yup, he’s fine, he hit his head, but to be honest there’s not much up there for him to damage. “ I joke.
She laughs hysterically, which makes her start coughing.
“Hey!” Dan shouts in protest. I smile at him in a “serves you right” way.
Avalon’s still giggling when I turn back to her. “By the way my name is Phil.”
She looks at me and then bursts out laughing again. “Phil, I know who you are…I don’t live under a rock.” She gets out between giggles. “My name is Avalon, but you can call me Ava.”
I smile, “Ava, nice to meet you.” She grins at me and I feel my stomach do a flip. Why did that just happen?
Just at that moment a group of paramedics walked in. I stayed close to Dan and Ava as they started to take the four or five seriously injured away in stretchers. I sighed. I felt bad for my fans, who knew someone actually wanted to explode us. A couple paramedics came over Ava and began to transfer her to a stretcher. I stayed by her side. I still had her hand in mine and I wasn’t going to let myself get separated from her. I stood as they went to walk her away, wincing at the pain in my leg. She noticed I think, she looked worried, but the paramedics were talking to her, asking her information. I turned to Dan just as he stood, and then promptly passed out. I grabbed him before he hit the floor and lowered him back down. I I was freaking out internally, he must have gotten hit really bad. Other paramedics rushed him as I stood nearby. I looked up to Ava and she waved at me. I regretted having to leave her, but I felt the need to stay near Dan. He’s like my brother. He’s family. I think she understood as she looked at me. I promised myself I’d see her again. I’d find her at the hospital and we would talk.
