PHIL’S POINT OF VIEW

When I left Ava’s room early that evening I had a grin on my face that probably made me look insane. Ok I really probably was insane for falling for Ava so quickly. I mean I had literally met her today, how could I fall for someone so quickly? Was that normal? Probably not, but I guess when a beautiful girl saves you from an exploding stage you tend to fall in love with her…wait a minute, did I just seriously say love? There was no way I was in love yet. Nope, no way. I mean get a grip Phil, seriously, not only did you just meet her today, but you don’t know her, and she was a fan. That was a no-no. You don’t fall in love with fan girls because it never ends well.

I walked to Dan’s room deep in thought, when I had left him earlier he had to go get some tests to make sure that his brain wasn’t damaged. They told him it was unlikely, but that it was a cautionary procedure. He hadn’t been happy about it, Dan hates hospitals, but he let them take him away anyways. While he was gone I had left the room to visit Ava and make sure she was OK. I had been asking every nurse about her, and when they kept telling me she had passed out and hadn’t woken up I had become seriously concerned. If she had been hurt because of the bomb I would have felt entirely responsible and I doubt that I would have ever forgiven myself. I mean this mess was bad enough as it was without the idea of my life being indebted to a dead fan. That’s why when I had found her room and they had told me that she had woken up I had been so excited. She was going to be ok and I felt like I could breathe again.

When I walked into Dan’s room I could tell by his face that I was in trouble. I hadn’t exactly told him where I was going and even though he wasn’t my mum, I knew that he would be worried. You see I hadn’t quite planned on talking to Ava for five hours. Heck, I wasn’t sure that I was going to get to talk to her at all, and I knew that Dan wouldn’t approve. He would think it was risky and stupid. Dan didn’t trust the fans (especially the girls) as far as he could throw…which wasn’t very far if you were wondering. So I knew that once I told him that I had talked to the “crazed” fangirl that had thrown us off the stage in attempts to save our life he wouldn’t be happy, that on top of the fact that he had gone through several hospital tests, and I knew I was going to get the Mickey taken out of me. I gave Dan a small smile, we were best friends, but we acted like brothers, fighting and all.

“There you are!” He said looking a bit relieved. I tried to hide my guilty look from him but I knew he had seen it.

“Hey, how are you feeling?” I asked trying to get the lime light off me, I knew it wouldn’t work, Dan was smarter than that. He had gone to law school for goodness sake, the man could fight, and he knew every trick in the book.

“I’m fine, now where were you? You’ve been gone for hours; I was just about to call someone.” He stated looking into my eyes for an answer. I turned my head and looked away, but I knew that would just make him more suspicious.

“I just went out for a walk.” I stated simply trying to end this now.

“A walk, for five hours?” Dan asked raising his eyebrows.

“I got lost…”

“In that girl’s room?” Dan asked, I knew the look on my face gave me away, “I knew it as soon as I saw you holding her hand. As soon as you looked at her, that she was going to be trouble.”

“Ava isn’t trouble, she’s nice.”

“Yah, and she’s A FAN!” Dan said raising his voice in exasperation.

“Ava’s different. She isn’t like the other fans.” I tried to defend myself.

“Phil, fangirls are fangirls. They may act sweet and nice, but they aren’t as soon as they get what they want, fame, or money, or a good fuck with their favorite famous person, they leave. They dump you cold and flat on your ass.”
