She was just there and now she wasn’t We’d seen people die before Faizi Sid sanju But this…
This was different Koel didn’t get to scream long enough didn’t get a goodbye didn’t even get to lie again.

One blink, and the floor beneath her vanished one blink and the world decided she wasn’t worthy of mercy my throat burned I didn’t even cry this time I just stared All I could think was: Who lied? Because the room said so because someone was lying And none of us wanted to admit it.

---

Karan punched the wall again. He was breathing heavily, fists raw, blood trailing down his knuckles I didn’t stop him Varun was pacing. Fast Unstable Talking to himself.

“She told the truth,” he muttered over and over. “She told the fucking truth.”

He was shaking “She didn’t deserve that. She didn’t fucking deserve that.”

Nobody did.

But especially not Koel.
Not the girl who laughed too loudly at dumb jokes not the girl who stayed up nights comforting people who never knew she needed the same

---

I sat against the wall arms around my knees and then I looked at the boys and I wondered—
What if it was one of them?

What if one of them lied?
And Koel paid the price.

What if they were still lying now?

Karan’s eyes met mine.

“What?” he said, voice low I didn’t say anything just stared.

Varun stopped pacing “You think it was one of us?”

The air turned colder

“I don’t know what I think anymore,” I said quietly

“You think I’d lie and let her die?” Varun snapped

“You said you weren’t scared of anything,” I replied. “You were the first one to cry when we saw Faizi’s blood.”

His face dropped

He took a step toward me, and Karan immediately stepped between us

“Stop,” Karan said

“I’m not lying,” Varun growled. “I’m not a coward.”

“No,” I said “But maybe you’re not who you pretend to be either”

Silence

Then Karan spoke“This is what it wants”

We both turned

“This room. These tasks. These... deaths. It’s not just testing our will. It’s testing our loyalty.”

Varun shook his head. “Then it’s working.”

---

The screen flickered again.
We all turned.

> TASK COMPLETE.
CONSEQUENCE APPLIED.
REMAINING PLAYERS: 3

And then something new appeared:

> BONUS TRUTH ROUND
“Tell the worst thing you’ve ever done.
Or let someone else bleed.”

There was no timer this time No name blinking Just one message below:

> “The room is listening.”

We stood there Waiting. The ceiling lights began to dim like they were holding their breath too

Varun laughed bitterly. “This fucking place never stops”

Karan was quiet Too quiet

Then he whispered, “I’ll go"

“No” I said instantly

“I want to” he replied

But there was something in his voice I didn’t trust something buried and I wasn’t sure I could handle another truth today Because we were already falling apart Because truth wasn’t healing us

It was killing us.
