ARTEMIS POV
"A million thoughts in my head
Should I let my heart keep listening
'Cause up 'til now I've walked the line
Nothing lost but something missingI can't decide
What's wrong, what's right
Which way should I goIf only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, if only
If onlyIf onlyEvery step, every word,
With every hour I am falling in
To something new, something brave
To someone I, I have never beenI can't decide
What's wrong, what's right
Which way should I goIf only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, if only
YeahAm I crazy? Maybe we could happen
Yeah
Will you still be with me when the magic's all run out?If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh...
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh...If only
If only
If only
If only
If only
If only" I sang, clutching the microphone tightly in my hand. I let my hand drop to my side as I looked out to the empty room. I put the microphone down, and started to walk out, my head looking down at the floor. I saw feet, and looked up to see my father. He was staring at me with a curious expression.
"What was that, Artemis?" He asked me, his bright blue eyes boring into mine. I shook my head.
"Just trying to clear my head. I come here a lot, actually. It helps when I have a lot on my mind," I said, shaking my head. He raised an eyebrow. I shrugged.
"Why haven't you told anyone yet?"
"I was afraid that people would see me differently." I heard someone breathing and instantly knew it wasn't my father. I stomped my foot, and two immortals rose from behind crates, Athena and Hera. I walked over to them and pulled out my idiot of a brother. I looked at Athena, and I could tell that she knew what I was going to do.
"Artemis, no! You can't do this!" Athena said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded my head.
"I have to. I don't belong here. I've never belonged here, among the gods," I said, summoning a silver chain that I crafted. I placed my hand in front of my chest and summoned all of my immortal power. My immortality and my power was sucked into my hand, and I placed the power in my necklace before collapsing to the floor. I shakily rose to my feet and gave the necklace to my brother.
"Artemis, no!" Apollo said, staring at the necklace in my hand.
"Bye, guys. You made me feel loved, when no one else did. Thank you," I said, before walking out of Olympus. After taking a taxi to the Hunters camp, I went there, and went over to Percy. It had started to rain, and without my godly abilities, I was soaked to the bone and freezing cold. My hunters stared at me as I walked through the camp. I found Thalia and Percy, and we stood outside my tent.
"Lady Artemis, why don't we go inside your tent?" Thalia asked me.
"I can't. I'm a mortal now. Surprise!" I said, weakly. Percy stared at me. Thalia left, and Percy and I stared into each other's eyes. Sea Green met Silver.
"Artemis, why would you do that?" Percy asked. I shrugged.
"Percy, I don't belong here! I've never belonged here!" I said, slightly exasperated.
"You belong here, with me!" He said, turning red as he realized what he said. "I mean-you know-" I stopped him right there. Summoning a burst of courage, I leaned forward and kissed him. Our lips collided and moved in sync. After a while, I pulled back and smiled at him.
"Take the hunters to Camp Half-Blood after the new goddess is crowned by Apollo. I will be in Camp Half-Blood. Athena granted me permission to stay in camp. I'll set things up there, and I'll wait for you." I leaned forward and kissed him again, before making my way to Camp Half-Blood. I heard him calling my name as I left, but I smiled and kept going. I knew not to stop and turn back, because the tears were already flowing down my face. After a few days, during which there was always a bright light to guide me. When I walked through the border, campers started bowing to me. Chiron walked out and embraced me when he saw the tears in my eyes. He led me to the Big House, where I completely broke down. Chiron stared at me, confusion written across his face. "Oh, uncle, I left the hunt, after I gave up my immortality," I said, between sobs. He nodded, and patted my back. When I calmed down, he started to talk.
"Artemis, you can stay here for as long as you need. Do you want to stay in the Artemis Cabin or the Zeus Cabin?" He asked me. I told him that I wanted to stay in the Zeus Cabin. As I walked there, I marveled at the other cabins. After a few lonely weeks in the Zeus Cabin, the Hunters arrived. When I stood to greet them, I could immediately tell that Thalia was the new goddess of the Hunt. When I saw Percy, I ran toward him. A few campers were surprised that I was running toward the Hunt, but I didn't care. I hugged each and every one of the Hunters, before giving Thalia a bear hug.
"What? You're not going to bow to the newest member of the Olympian Council?" She joked, and I chuckled. Last but not least, I greeted Percy with a long kiss. We pulled apart when Thalia decided to strike the air inches away from us with a lightning bolt.
"Artemis!" He gasped, examining me from head to toe. I had a few bruises, and a few scabs on my arm, but other than that, I was perfectly healthy.
"You ready, Percy?" I asked as Percy and I were walking to the Zeus Cabin with Thalia.
"Ready for what, Artemis?" Thalia asked.
"Before I left the hunt, I promised Percy that we could have a life together," I said, blushing slightly. She nodded her head, before running off to what was my cabin. Percy started to walk toward the Poseidon Cabin, but I grabbed his arm. "Nope, Seaweed Brain. You swore that you would never leave my side." I dragged him to where I had been staying. He grabbed a bunk, and I laid down beside him, my head on his chest and his hands running through my hair.
"Artemis, aren't you afraid of what will happen to us?" He asked, and I shook my head.
"I know that as long as we're together, the only enemy left to fear is death." He chuckled, and we fell asleep that way. In the early morning, I was awakened by footsteps outside the cabin. Apollo walked inside, and his eyes widened at the position that we were in. I quickly sat up, and Percy stirred.
"It's not what it looks like!" I said. He raised an eyebrow. "Fine. It is what it looks like."
"Great! Because it looks like my sister has finally fallen in love?" He said cheerfully. Percy sat up next to me, and I could feel his body tense.
"Brother, we're leaving camp today. I found an apartment nearby for you, when you give up your immortality," I said, and he nodded.
"I already have." I gasped.
"Who is the new god of the sun?"
"My son, Will Solace." I handed him the keys to his new apartment.
"Well then. Maybe we can finally grow old like we have always wanted." He nodded, and we set off to find Chiron.
"Chiron, we're leaving Camp," Percy told his mentor. He nodded, like he knew this day was coming. We left camp after telling the hunters and grabbing breakfast. We took a taxi to our apartments, which were right by each other. Percy and I walked into ours, and I gasped.
"Geez! When I asked Aphrodite for help, I never pictured that she would do this!" I said, surprise written all over my face.
