"Mission Creek High School, the best one around," I read the sign aloud as I walked up the marble stoned stairs. As I was walking up the stairs, I started to think what life would be like as a senior. Since I was new, I could get a fresh start. A new year, a new Katilyn. I told myself as I reached the final step and entered the lobby of the school. As I looked around, I happened to see a dingo costume. Interesting mascot. I shrugged it off and immediately headed towards the front desk so I could get my schedule.

"Excuse me?" I asked the lady who was looking down, reading something.

"Oh, sorry! I was just caught in this book. You must be Katilyn. Welcome!" the lady said. I nodded and smiled at her. She got a piece of paper that looked like a map and circled a few things before she handed it to me along with a slip of paper.

"Okay, so I've circled where the major points are in the high school, for example: the library, the cafeteria and the gym. I've also circled where are your classes are. Here's your schedule." I looked at the slip of paper that she gave me. I had AP Physics first, then AP Calculus, a free period, AP Literature, lunch, Advanced Art, AP World History and finally, French. I had almost all AP classes, and I knew this year, would be like hell. Forget it being "like" hell. It is hell. I said a kind "thank you" as I walked off, staring down at my map and schedule. As I was walking, I tried to navigate myself, but I couldn't seem to find where I was going. I was heading towards the gym to see if one of the counselors could help. As I still looked down at my paper, I looked up for a split second, and then BAM! I run straight into someone making me drop all my papers. I groaned mentally at my clumsiness and bent down to pick up my papers.

Once I had picked up almost everything, I was reaching towards my book, An Abundance of Katherines when someone else's hand reached out for it as well. Just before our hands were about to touch, I looked up and met the eyes of the most handsome guy. He had breathtaking brown hazel eyes that glimmered in the light, strong arms, judging by his biceps, and attractive facial features. I knew I was staring too long when he intentionally coughed and picked up my book. I couldn't stop staring at his eyes.

"Is this yours?" oh my lord. His voice. I unconfidentally nodded as I grabbed the book out of hands. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around here before," I nodded again, stupidly. "You don't talk much do you?" he said, laughing a little. I shook my head, but then spoke.

"Trust me, once you get to know me, I won't shut up," I laughed at myself as he raised an eyebrow.
