Ashton's point of view
Rain smashed against my small window in the corner of my room awakening me from the deep sleep that had consumed me the night before.
Right no it sounded like the world was freaking ending outside as there was a bright crack of lightning and deafening rumbles of thunder coming form the outside as I silently prayed that we would be given a day off school so that I didn't need to encounter Luke anytime of the day.
What happened last Saturday was weird and since then I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. The way we just sat and stared into each others eyes not even noticing what we were doing.
I've literally never been so confused in my entire life considering that Luke is the most hated person in my life right now.
But when I do think about it he didn't really do anything except get me detention with the worst teacher in the school, maybe I could try and give him a chance at being friends?
Wait, what, no! What am I even thinking? He's bad news and I'm not getting involved. He'll move onto another boy soon and I'll just be left on the curb. Besides I have Ava, well we're not really in a relationship but I guess we're pretty close to that kind of thing.
Sighing I released myself from my thoughts and picked up my phone from the side of my bed. It was 7:30 am and the school had sent out a text message to everyone saying that school was cancelled considering weather conditions. I smiled to myself, happy that I didn't have to see Luke today and locked my phone before lying back down on my back.
But it wasn't long before it chimed showing that someone had texted me.
Ava :3 ~ Schls cancelled 2day just in case u didnt get the message Xx wanna come over or sumthng? parents took lil sis out and im bored af! xx P.S- hope i didnt wake u up! xx
I smiled and quickly replied saying I would be over as soon as I was ready and forced myself out of bed. Once I had pulled myself together I walked over to the mirror attached to my wall and cringed when I noticed what a mess I was.
I didn't really have many clothing items and it didn't help that most of then were in the wash so it took me a while to decide what I should wear. But finally I decided on just black jeans and a ripped ACDC tank top. I threw on some old vans not putting much effort into my hair since it was still only 8:15 am and you can't expect anyone to look like the freaking queen this early in the morning.
When I got downstairs Mum had already left again, I swear it feels like I haven't seen her in years.
I wasn't really hungry so I just decided that I would stop by Starbucks on the way. Before I knew it I was already sat in the drivers seat of my car and trying to start the engine.
The car was like 300 years old because mum didn't have enough money to pay for an expensive on and even with this one the rest of the family still had to chip in with some of their money, so it takes a few seconds for it to start up.
Finally the ignition started and I started to pull out the drive way. The rain had died down and the thunder and lightning had seemed to move on to another city so I should be safe to drive. It didn't take long before I had pulled up in front of the local Starbucks and hopped out of the car covering the top of my head with my arms trying to shelter myself form the rain that had picked up again.
The thing was I didn't know what kind of things Ava liked from here since we never really came so I just ordered two hot chocolates hoping for the best.
I found her house pretty quickly and ran over to the front door knocking frantically desperate to get out of the rain, but with my luck it took her what seemed like years to open the front door leaving me to get soaked outside standing in nothing but a hoodie and sweatpants.
Finally the lock from the inside clicked and there she stood standing in what looked like her pajamas still half asleep.
"Sorry, after I had texted you I fell back asleep," She said sleepily and I chuckled lightly at how cute she looked standing there in her pajamas.
"It's okay, rain won't kill me,"I reassured her as she looked at my wet figure.
Ava let me in and we sat in the living room on the couch curled into the corner talking about the first thing that came to mind. I hate it when people say that you need to being doing something active to have fun when you can laugh and smile just as much sitting down and talking.
"How's Luke," She suddenly said and even the mention of his name sent shivers down my spine.
"Why would you ask that?" I shifted around uncomfortably.
"I just figured that you two had became friends since I usually see you walking about together at school," She looked up at me furrowing her eyebrows together.
"What, no, I don't even like Luke!" I exclaimed loudly.
"Well people like Calum Hood say that he's like best friends with you?" Ava stated and I rolled my eyes at how needy he was.
"Why were you talking to people like Calum Hood?"
"I sit next to him in social studies and he knew that I was friends with you and for some reason brang it up," I looked over to her confused.
"Well he's lying," I stated looking her in the eyes.
"Maybe you should give him a chance, if he's telling people that he's your best friend then maybe he thinks your cool or something?" she asked but I just shook my head.
"He has a crush on me that's it and I'm definitely not cool! Haven't you always been the cool one?" I joked poking her in the side making her squirm about a bit.
"A girl should be two thing, classy and fabulous but I'm definitely not cool!" Ava laughed making me laugh along with her.
We sat for ages not even realizing the time until I glanced at my watch.
"Jeez it's 2:30 pm how long have we been sitting here for?" I chuckled looking over to Ava.
"Wait! What? My parents will be back soon and I wasn't supposed to have people over!" She started panicking and I stood up slipping on my shoes.
Suddenly we heard a car start to pull up in the driveway and we both froze.
"What do you mean you weren't supposed to have people over?" I whisper shouted.
"I was grounded until my grades pick up and if they see you my dad will literally kill me!" she whispered back and it looked like all of the blood had been drained out of her face when we heard the front door click open.
"Quick upstairs and hide in the wardrobe," she said and I sprinted up the stairs trying to find her room. Finally I found it and jumped into the small wardrobe in the corner.
I heard talking from downstairs and prayed that they hadn't noticed my car outside the house.
Suddenly I heard loud footsteps come up the stairs followed by lighter ones behind.
"Ava that car outside better not belong to anyone who might be lurking around in here!" I heard what sounded to be her Dad's voice.
The door to the room opened and my hand slapped over my mouth trying not to make a sound.
Just as I thought they were about to leave I started to get the most painful dead foot so as carefully as I could, I lifted my foot shaking it about a bit trying to get rid of the pins and needles.
But as usual God hates me and I started to lose my balance and before I knew it I was flat of the ground in Ava's room while her father stood there shocked looked down at me.
