Ashton's point of view
I stood in front of my mirror trying to form my hair into something presentable and wasn't just a nest on my head.
Giving up I just left it as it was.
Thankfully I wasn't taking Ava anywhere fancy so I didn't need to put in that much effort into my appearance.
Even though Ava did ask me out I still refused to let her decide where we were going.
Then she started this big speech about it being stereotypical how the male always has to choose where they go on the date but I really couldn't care less as that was how I had always done it.
I quickly shoved on a pair of vans before looking at myself in the mirror one last time.
It was 6:30 exactly when I heard a knock on my front door signalling that Ava had arrived and I ran down the stairs, missing one step each time.
When I opened the door I had to stop my jaw from dropping (as cheesy as it sounds) because she looked absolutely stunning
Instead of in a single braid she had her long hair falling down her back now dyed a bright blue colour.
She was wearing a black cropped top and a tartan shirt completed with high waisted shorts and red converse.
"I like your hair," I commented not being able to take my eyes off of her.
"Thank you, I hope we're not going anywhere fancy," she blushed looking at her clothing.
"No, you look perfect," her cheeks went an even brighter pink and I smiled at her taking her hand in mine before locking the door behind me.
We walked down the street hand in hand making small talk about whatever came to mind.
"This is so cheesy," she acknowledged our entwined hands seining back and forth.
"It's supposed to be cheesy isn't it?" I smiled at her slightly showing off the front of my teeth.
"I guess so," her eyes twinkled lightly and I was now full on smiling at her as we slowly walked towards our destination.
"Dates are so stereotypical," she added looking up into the sky. The setting sun was brining out her eyes more and more by the second.
Most of the time they were a grey mysterious colour but tonight they shone a lustful green.
"How?" I stopped walking stopping her with me.
"Well, they always seem to go the same for everyone, the guy asks the girl out he surprises her with a fancy restaurant, bla bla bla, they kiss before they leave and live happily ever after," she shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't believe in happily ever after," I said.
"Me neither,"
"It's just a fantasy world,"
"We're allowed to fantasy but we mustn't lose sight of reality,"
And I kissed her.
With so much passion and lust it felt like nobody was watching us.
It was just us the only people in the entire world.
But it wasn't right.
I didn't feel comfortable or like we mounded together.
It didn't feel like the way they described it in books.
I pulled away.
"Sorry I can't do this,"
Luke's point of view (y'all weren't expecting that were you!)
I got up stretching after there was a knock from the door and pulled on a shirt.
There was another knock and I quickened my pace as I was walking down the stairs.
There came yet another knock just as I opened the door and I was surprised to see Ava Thompson.
"Uh hay?" I said looking behind her as if there would be someone else there.
"Uh hay Luke, is Ashton here?" She asked crossing her arms.
"No why? Do you want me to call him?" I asked.
"Don't bother I've already tried about a million times and he's not picking up, and he just ditched on our date,"
"Your date?" My breath hitched.
"Yeah I asked him out a couple of days ago but I don't understand why he just ran off, did I do something wrong, does he not like me anymore?" She looked at me and I saw the tears welling up in the bottom of her eyes.
"If I knew where he was I swear I would tell you but I really don't, maybe you should just go home and ask him tomorrow?" She sniffed and nodded before turning around and heading back home.
I closed the door sighing and walked back into the living room sitting down on the coffee table.
"Is she gone?"
"Yes you can come out now,"
Ashton came out from the kitchen that was joined to my living room and sat down on the couch in front of me.
"You shouldn't be hiding,"
"I know,"
