I continued to follow Louis around as he collected what he needed for their fitting.
"Please don't go." I beg finally. He turns around and raises his eyebrows at me.
"I'll be back later, babe. Don't you worry" He smiles as he places a light kiss on my cheek and follows the other two boys out the door. Wait what? Did he just-
I shake the thought from my mind and turn around. Zayn was still fast asleep; this left Niall and me. He looked up at me innocently.
I slowly slid into the booth where I had been sitting before. Niall got up and slid in across from me, still eating. I took a deep breath. Relax, play it cool...
"So, are you from New York?" Niall asks once he swallows his bite. I nod slowly. My number one goal is to not piss him off. It's hard to believe that he can get so violent, this blond, happy, naïve, Irish boy smiling in front of me.
"Relax, Katie. I'm not gonna hurt you." He smiles almost apologetically. I gulp nervously. I'm not fooled.
"Sorry." I mutter quietly. He lets out a sigh and inclines his body toward mine.
"So, what's your family like?" He asks awkwardly, trying to make conversation with me. I shrug.
"I'd rather not talk about my family." I say with as much politeness as I can muster. It's not like I have some huge family secret, I'd just like to keep my family out of this.
"Fair enough," Niall accepted, "let's play a game. I'll ask you a question, that you HAVE to answer honestly, and then you do the same for me." He suggests. I shrug; I'd rather not play, but I have nothing better to do.
"Do you like working at that restaurant?" Niall starts. I chuckle slightly at this question and decided to answer honestly. Maybe I can get on his good side...
"Not in the slightest. I'm not a people person." I was downplaying it; I really do not like most other people. I know I sound like a bitch, but that's life. I just don't get along with people.
Niall found my answer amusing.
"I figured as much." He snickered.
"Ok, where in Ireland are you from?" I tried to pick a light question; nothing too intense. Keep the conversation superficial and avoid him flipping out. That was the plan.
"Mullingar," he answers with ease.
"Favorite animal?" He asks before taking a bite of food.
"Elephant. Favorite food?"
"Food is food. No favorites; I eat everything!" Niall is barely understandable between his mouthful of food and his laughter. I roll my eyes in a teasing matter.
"Ever had a boyfriend?" I groan at this question.
"Yes." I mutter with no enthusiasm. My tone does not go unnoticed by Niall.
"What happened?" He asks softly.
"It's my turn to ask the question, buddy." I remind him. I was NOT about to get into my life with the dirtbag, cheating scum I used to call my boyfriend.
"Fine." He proceeds for me to continue.
"Are you a natural blond?" I thought back to my high school years, my blond phase, when that was the only question I got.
"No." His answer shocked me.
"Really?" I gasped. He raised an eyebrow at me.
"My turn to ask the question." He teased. I let out a small smile. This wasn't going badly at all. I thought for sure that he was going to ask about my ex, but surprisingly, he didn't.
