He offered a small smile and a wave. His eyes were rimmed with red, but he was being strong, unlike me. No tears fell.
I made my way to the back of the train and sat down in one of the seats by the window. Louis watched me from the outside. He still had the same expression, as if he were too scared to stop waving and smiling at me.
"I love you" he mouthed to me. I smiled back at him and whispered the words that felt so right, so perfect.
"I love you too." I could tell he read my lips clearly because as the train pulled away from the station, away from Louis, I could see him disappearing, becoming smaller and smaller with a big grin on his face.
He finally disappeared all together, leaving the first person to ever really care about me in the distance.

I woke up crying. The tears were heavily flowing from my eyes. That day was the day I escaped from my captors, but it was also the day that I left Louis behind. Seven years ago. I look around the room desperately. It was empty.
I felt the familiar pang of panic in my chest. I shot out of bed and wandered the apartment.
"H-hello?" I called out as my bare feet pressed against the cold, expensive hardwood floor. My fingers trailed against the carefully picked out paint on the walls. There was no one in the modernly furnished living room, but I heard a noise in the kitchen.
"You scared me!" I breathed out when I entered the bright room. Louis spun around with a smile spread across his perfect features.
"Sorry, Mrs. Tomlinson." He grinned. I stepped closer to him and investigated what the weird smell was.
"Lou, are you cooking? You shouldn't be cooking!" I giggle and take the pan from his hands. The last time Louis tried to make me breakfast, the fire department had to be summoned.
"I was going to surprise you." He pretended to pout.
"With a fire? I would have loved that..." I mutter sarcastically. I turn off the stove and remove all the pans and food from Louis's reach. At the sink, I feel two muscular arms wrap around my waist and constrict me against his chest.
I giggled as he nibbled on my earlobe while I tried to clean the dishes. His kiss trailed to my cheek, but his lips froze as soon as they touched the soft skin. Immediately, he drew away from me and spun me around gently.
His eyebrows were furrowed over his beautiful blue eyes which scrutinized my face.
"Have you been crying?" He whispered in a concerned tone. I wiped the nearly dry tears from my cheeks self-consciously. He caught my wrist in his large hands.
"Why were you crying, Katie?" He asked seriously.
"I told you- you scared me." I whispered, looking away.
"Didn't you know that it was me in here, love?" He chuckled as he tilted my chin up with his long fingers.
"That's not what scared me. I-I had a bad dream and you weren't there when I woke up." I muttered. Louis pulled me into his chest and began to stroke my hair gently.
"Shh, baby I'm here. It's ok, shh." He whispered. I sighed against him and wrapped my hands around his body too.
"What was the bad dream?" He asked me softly.
"The day I left you at the train station." I whispered back. I felt him sigh out heavily before prying me off of him so that he could look into my eyes.
"Babe, you'll never have to relive that moment again. Ever again. I promise. I won't let you get away." He promised. I nodded up at him. He brought up his hand and pointed to the gold band on his ring finger.
