After Zayn left, I pushed myself back onto the bed so that I could lay down. What the fuck was going on? I mean, first Niall acts all nice to me, then beats me up, then Zayn helps me and is nice, but threatens me. I couldn't control the confusion in my brain; my thoughts were buzzing out of control. I was actually getting a headache.
My thoughts returned to this morning and the small kiss on the cheek Louis had given me. What was that about? Before I could think into it further, I heard the bus door open. I let out a sigh in relief; the other boys were back. I could hear them clearly through the thin walls of the bus.
"Alright, you two are up for fittings." Liam informed Zayn and Niall. I heard two groans.
"Honestly, I didn't think that that girl knew how to handle a pin and needle. She kept jabbing my side. Jesus," I heard Harry complain.
"Katie's in the back?" Louis asked.
"Yeah, you may want to leave her be, though, she's had a rough morning." Zayn told them. I heard the bus door open again as I assumed that Zayn and Niall were leaving.
"What happened?" Liam asked, concerned. At that point, no one said anything, but I assumed Zayn somehow motioned that Niall had done something without letting Niall see; he avoided another Niall incident. As the bus door closed, indicating Niall and Zayn left, I heard heavy footsteps come towards me. The door slammed open and Louis rushed in.
"You alright?" He asked me and looked me over. His eyes land on the bruise on my lower cheek and his jaw clenches as he steps near me. His eyes move down to my still revealed bare stomach and his fists tighten once he sees the bruises. I gulp nervously before I slip the fabric of my shirt back down, hiding the bruise from where Niall had kicked me.
"Katie," he murmured as he climbed onto the bed next to me. He slowly lifted my chin, forcing me to look up at him. His fingers trailed along my bruise.
"I am so sorry..." He breathed out, his breath hot against my face. I whimpered once his fingers touched a sensitive spot. He bit his lip and dropped his hand.
"Gonna kill 'em" I thought I heard Louis mutter under his breath. I heard the door open, revealing Liam. He came over to us and sat on the edge of the bed, looking at me with worry.
"How are you doing, babe?" He asked softly. I just shrugged. The look of sympathy in his eyes was making me slightly uncomfortable.
"Would you like to come out and hang with us in the front?" Liam asked after another few agonizing minutes of them staring at me in pity. I shake my head no, but Louis slowly places his arms around my shoulder and leans in.
"Don't worry love; it's just me, you, Liam and Haz." He promises. I nod and let him help me up from the bed slowly. I push myself away from Louis's grasp and stand on my own. I still feel slightly dizzy from earlier, and sore, but other than that the incident with Niall remains as a scary memory.
I try to walk out of the back bedroom, but of course I stumble only giving Liam a reason to wrap his arm protectively around my waist and walk me out to the front of the bus. He helps me sit down in the booth across from Harry and then slides in next to me. Louis slides in next to Harry.
"How ya doing, love?" Harry asks me, his green eyes smoldering.
"F-fine." I respond with a shaky breath. I could tell none of the boys believed me, but they all chose to ignore the awkward conversation and let it drop. I was thankful.
We pretty much hung out for the rest of the day, it was kind of boring but that's something I would have to get used to. This is my life now. Niall and Zayn didn't come home for a few hours. When they did, both acted normally as if this morning never happened.
